What this movie to me achieved perfectly were the eerie, desolated cityscapes. Some really nice shots there. And as the other review pointed out: the insecurity of a female living alone there.
Agreed, that some of the actions by the lead character and supporting characters seemed illogical, but it wasn't too bad, compared to similar movies.
Makes me wanna buy 5 different locks.

When I started watching this movie,I really didn't have any idea that it is the remake or copied spanish movie. Different between them is in spanish version there is no violence shown but in this it has some.
Truly speaking it wasn't good at all. Maybe it's beacuse I had seen the original one, so I didn't like this one that much.

I loved all those thrilling moments in this film, but that alone doesn't make this a good film.
A woman lives alone in a one room apartment. She wakes each morning with an awful headache and after a weird incident of someone beating on the apartment door and trying to come in she starts to believe that something very strange is going on.
This wasn't a bad film but it moved at a slow pace and some things just didn't make a lot of sense. There was a nice build up of tension at times yet it fell flat at others. There was a lack of detail in a few key areas and I never really reached a point where I felt invested in the characters.
To be fair, the subtitles I was using were in a broken english so there may have been things that were literally lost in translation. However, I don't think it would have been enough to have pushed them film to have had a much higher score from me.
So,my takeaway is that it isn't awful but it left something to be desired.

As a female, i definitely understood the scenes where the lead feels helpless when it comes to protecting themselves from intruders. However, her helplessness throughout the first half of the movie reminds me too much of many of her previous works. What i was baffled is that she was always bringing unnecessary trouble to herself for being so clueless. Took her quite awhile to realize and take quick action, it was kinda late when the man got to her.
The scenes where she struggled out of her captive building was really thrilling not gonna lie. It still remained clear in my mind because i really thought that was the end of her life.
