    Enjoyed it!

I really enjoyed Wolfenstein the Youngblood! It was another good story about take care of your family, and don't abuse power. I really liked the combat with all the guns and stealth abilities. The new guns like the Electrokraftwerk, and the Uberhammer were super fun to shoot. I actually really enjoyed the upgrade system for your guns, and abilities. The corrections I'd make still are the combat was super fun, but again the combat felt a bit too realistic and not as smooth or fast as the way it felt in Wolfenstein The New Order. And then of course I'm going to say the sexual immorality, the gore, and the foul language was extremely disgusting, so that's again why I can't give this game anything higher than a 7/10. Overall though did I still really enjoy this game "yes absolutely". Have a great day, and goooo Wolfenstein!

    Another failure

Cringe and repetitive. Dumb dialogues, Semi open world, micro transactions and a coop experience that doesn't work. Just a money grab. Stay away!!!

Total Dumpster Fire, Avoid At all Costs

I have played all the recent incarnations of Wolfenstein including the New Order, the New Blood and the New Colossus. Those games rank from very good to excellent. Youngblood is terrible it should not even be considered part of the series. I will go over a few of the major problems.

I played with the AI as my coop partner. The coop partner is as dumb as a bag of hammers. If you are fighting a boss it goes right up to it and just stands in there and shoots until you have to go rescue them. You can't finish bosses because the AI keeps losing lives for you.

The worse thing if you lose a boss battle it sets you back to when you enter one of the Brothers (boss area). This makes you do over 15 to 25 minutes over again to get to the boss area. Bleep that.

You constantly have to keep going over areas that you have been through to get to the next mission and fight in the exact same areas. If you clear an area and step out it for even a second and step back it is fully stocked once again, what a waste of time.

The map is worthless and garbage.

The main complaint that everyone finds is that the earlier Wolfensteins had a very good story. This one has a nonexistent storyline. It is boring and does not try to absorb your at all.

Everyone knows it Bethesda so can you say micro transactions.

The final straw for me was during one of the boss battles I was to pick up 2 computer keys after killing the bosses. I killed both bosses and got 1 key but where they said the other key was there was nothing. I tried for 15 minutes trying to get to the location of the key and could not pick it up where it should have been on the screen. That was it for me, I deleted the game.

I compare this to the last AAA game I played Metro Exodus which I would give a 9 out of 10 and this one fails in every respect. Bethesda hopefully the new Doom game coming out will be a whole lot better. However Fallout 76 and this dumpster fire does not make me think it will be much better.

    Confusing and frustrating

This is my first foray into Wolfenstein as I have never played these games for as long as I have been alive, and it's nothing short of rage-inducing.

Wolfenstein: Youngblood is a first-person shooter that plays like an RPG with it's grinding, leveling system, enemy teirs, and heavy/light ammo mechanics. And of the little that I do know about Wolfenstein I'm certain that the mainline games are fairly linear shooters with none of these gameplay elements.

The gunplay feels good and the ability to upgrade your weapons is neat, but it's second to none compared with the enemy durability. They absorb damage while eating through your health and armor, even with your guns upgraded. To add insult to injury the upgrades you apply to your weapons transfers to theirs as well, giving them an unfair advantage. And to add to the frustration the enemy AI has heightened senses, making stealth difficult.

Then there is the game map. You're given a minimap and a marker to direct your characters through their objectives. But often times you'll get lost and run around in circles if you don't have a keen eye for your surroundings.

Now for my closing statements. I have heard and read people express their dissatisfaction over this game's protagonists, from them being females and supposedly pushing identity politics, to not being able to play as the male lead (B.J. Blazkowicz) from previous games, to the supposedly cringe nature of the playable character's personalities and interactions.

And honestly I don't care about any of that. It's the half-baked gameplay mechanics, even with the subsequent patches to make difficulty and gameplay simpler, that I take issue with.

    Another miss for Bethesda.

    Just outrageous, like Fallout 76.

    Buy it, if you dare.

    • Trivia
The first Wolfenstein game to be granted a completely uncensored release in Germany. Since Wolfenstein 3D (1992), which was declared as propaganda at the time and was therefore banned, this series had a notorious history regarding bans and censorship. The sequels Return to Castle Wolfenstein (2001) and Wolfenstein (2009) had all the violence and Nazi symbolism removed, but were eventually banned as well. Since Wolfenstein: The New Order (2014), the games were released uncensored for the first time, but only in regards to violence. In August 2018, regulations in the German law were revised, which allowed the video game ratings board USK to decide whether a game containing symbolism could receive a rating or not. In this case, the uncensored version as well as a censored version were granted a rating and released simultaneously. However, despite the official rating, some of the largest retail chains in Germany decided to sell only the censored version.
    • Goofs
While the majority of text and dialogue is free of spelling and grammatical errors, some text make no sense or are at least sound very strange to somebody who speaks German as their mother language. For example, an advertisement for video cassettes describes them as being "schnittfest". That adjective is normally used to describe the cut resistance of a physical object, like leather, gloves or meat (in other words, you wouldn't physically cut a video tape).

William Joseph 'B.J.' Blazkowicz: [Opening lines] Pick your head up, Jess, come on.

Jess Blazkowicz: [looking through a sniper scope at a Bighorn sheep] What is that thing?

William Joseph 'B.J.' Blazkowicz: Bighorn. No idea what it's doing in these parts. Must have strayed from the flock.
