Brilliantly funny and dark at the same time. Loaded with characters you love to hate and a pair of hapless 'fresh eggs' who want to escape the urban life the series follows a naive and novice pair of back to the lander's on a roller-coaster ride of misadventure Enjoy

I thought it was quirky at first but it got darker and blacker, the humour and it was just too much in the end for us we stopped watching . Makes you feel really sad, the violence and the depravity. Not fun !

I found it depraved very few redeeming qualities in any of the characters. The point of view is too dark, unpleasant to watch, wish I could Vulcan mindmeld a memory erase of what I watched. The initial concept was good but the not funny violence just cries out for a bit of relief from the dark hopeless world that's been created. Lacks a moral compass.

Makes me want to never visit a small town in New Zealand again.

From the little country, comes this little box production. Accidental deaths and near deaths keep this bloody little number rollicking along.

Production values are high with nice compositions and color palettes from the DOP. But it is the deft scripting that drives this tale of 2 city dwellers moving to the, soon to be nightmarish, countryside.

It's a great little tale set over 6 episodes. Some excellent support players helped along by the wit of the script. Occasionally let down by weekend actors - but they disappear in a blink.

The key protagonists are apt and able - but it is McCormack's Lulu that makes this rock. She pickpockets every scene, charismatically flirting with the viewer while delivering jaw dropingly crass, vile and supremely witty dialogue, that will shock little old ladies to death.

She keenly delivers at a blistering pace, the best lines in the Set that are completely withering to the other cast members and audience alike.

This is worthy of a watch for Lulu alone.

Not everyone raves about ths series but I do. Really intelligent storyline. Unpredictable, dramatic, funny, tragic and clever, but beyond that surreal and brilliant cinematography and the director, actors and DOP were really on the same page. Should be included in all filmaker 101 courses.

Fresh Eggs is a great example of kiwi black comedy, the characters are relatable whilst still giving a surreal feeling to the show. I highly recommend this to any kiwi or anyone who's ever enjoyed kiwi works. Funnier than most of its predecessors this is drive of the best NZ television ever made
