The Forest is probably one of my favourite survival games. Enemies have a really interesting AI system, building and fighting feels fun and mostly simple. The special, rarer mutants look scary, especially if you started playing without knowing what this game is about and how your enemies act/look. It also has an interesting, almost hidden storyline, which you aren't forced to follow. Game also has Co-op with up to 4 players. I played it on PS4 and it ran almost perfectly smoothly, it's a great PC to console port. This game brilliantly combines the building and exploration, horror and survival aspects. I highly recommend trying it out.
The game is perfect, everything about it, its crafting system, its building system, and the exploration of its caves. You can craft hundreds of things, and every time you upgrade your weapons or create something new, it's satisfying. The cannibals and mutants are perfect enemies, and the fact that they become stronger as the days go by is a great detail. And speaking of details, EVERYTHING in this game is detailed; you can literally hear the leaves rustling in the wind. Now, the story doesn't give us much context as to what's happening, even after finishing the game, which is why I recommend exploring the map thoroughly, especially the caves, to discover things that aren't explained.
For my fellow mate nimcen, the forest is an outstanding, thrilling coop adventure.
But Epos sausage was wayyyyy too short 2mm to be exact.
Still fun, love it, recommend it, looking forward for sons of the forest.

From the graphics to the gameplay, this game is amazing. The multiplayer feature is so much fun, and the crafting system is like no other. The scares can get repetitive, but when you first start the game, you will be scared the crap out of.
THE FOREST (2018) was an extremely brutal adventure horror survival game. Being a survival game, the stakes are very high. Survival of the fittest, kill or be killed. There is also a huge hidden story to unravel, discovering the mystery and dark secrets of the island and its terrifying inhabitants, as well as trying to find your son.
"As the lone survivor of a passenger jet crash, you find yourself in a mysterious forest battling to stay alive against a society of cannibalistic mutants while searching for your lost son."
This game is very DARK and while the graphics are great (not perfect) it's also chillingly realistic at times. I loved the entire concept. Out in the forest in middle of nowhere after a plane crash on a mysterious island, filled with cannibal natives and grotesque mutants. Psychological horror at it's finest. The lack of thematic music will have your ears pricked, listening to every noise the background. You have to be prepared always, from everything like basic survival needs (food, water, shelter, mental health etc.), from the elements and terrain, illnesses and poisoning, from the creatures lurking in the woods.
Overall, this game was very fun and creepy. The premise is very dark and there is plenty of gore. I loved the survival aspects, (hunting, gathering, foraging, crafting, building, traveling, exploring etc.) There is a lot to do in this game and it can be very addictive.
Not recommended for minors as the gore levels are pretty severe (blood, violence, murder, cannibalism, genetically mutated monsters, hunting, skinning, dismemberment, decapitation, burning bodies, cooking human meat, crafting armor from animal/human/monster bones/skin/remains, child death, etc.)
