Justice Arif Doctor, presiding over a vacation bench on November 15, rejected the petitioners’ request, emphasizing their failure to establish a “very strong and compelling prima facie case” of defamatory material in the series. The court acknowledged that the Bhopal Gas Tragedy was a significant and unfortunate event well-documented in the public domain through various media.

Highlighting the disclaimer at the beginning of the series stating it as a “work of fiction” and only “inspired” by true events, the judge noted that the events surrounding the gas leak have been extensively discussed in documentaries, movies, and books over the years.

Weekend Blockbusters, the production house behind some of the acclaimed Malayalam films such as Rdx and Minnal Murali, has announced its seventh production venture. The film will star Antony Varghese, who played one of the leads in Rdx, and will be directed by debutant Ajith Mampally. The music will be composed by Sam C. Mumbai, Sep 1 (Ians) R. Madhavan, whose film ‘Rocketry: The Nambi Effect’ just won the National Award for the Best Feature Film, has been nominated President of the Film and Television Institute of India (Ftii).

He takes over from renowned filmmaker Shekhar Kapur, who was president from September 30, 2020.

Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Anurag Thakur, took to his X account (formerly Twitter) to make the announcement and extended his best wishes to the National Award-winning actor.

Taking to Instagram to express his wishes, the actor, while posting a picture of him together with his sister, wrote: “Wishing a happy 50th birthday to one of the most generous caring and nicest souls I have ever known.”

After his directorial debut “Rocketry: The Nambi Effect,” which bowed at the Cannes market earlier this year that he also wrote and co-produced, R. Madhavan is back solely as an actor with thriller “Dhokha – Round D Corner,” directed by Kookie Gulati (“The Big Bull”).

After stints in music videos, Khushalii Kumar makes her film debut, playing a woman with a personality disorder who is taken hostage by a terrorist. She is married to Madhavan’s character.

“It’s very tightly knit and any sort of revelation might give you a hint and ruin it for people,” Madhavan told Variety about the plot of the film. “It looks like a pretty straightforward story, but as the film progresses, nobody is actually who they seem.”

For Madhavan, after the rigors of “Rocketry,” being back to acting duties and getting back on set after long months away due to Covid-19 lockdowns, was a relief.

In just few days, the much anticipated film Brahmastra starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt will hit the theatres. While the fans are excited to to see their favourite pair on screen, many are looking forward to the much awaited return of Shah Rukh Khan on the big screen.

Following his cameos in Rocketry: The Nambi Effect and Laal Singh Chaddha, the superstar will be seen in the upcoming mystical fantasy drama.

Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 24 (Ians) Top former space scientists, all retired from Isro on Wednesday slammed their former colleague S. Nambi Narayanan, terming the claims he has made in movie “Rocketry: The Nambi Effect” released globally on July 2 “a bluff” and “devoid of facts”, and hence, making them decide to go public.

The movie is about the life and struggles of Nambi Narayanan who was a senior scientist in the Isro and later was alleged of being involved in espionage. He fought the case, got acquitted of all charges, and even made the police pay him compensation for undue detention and trauma.

The film has been scripted and directed by actor R. Madhavan and has by now completed more than 50 days.

Among those who addressed the media here included Dr A.E. Muthunayagom, the former Director of Isro’s Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre (Lpsc), D. Sasikumaran, former Deputy Director, Cryogenic Engine), Prof E.

Actor Madhavan’s critically acclaimed hit film ‘Rocketry: The Nambi Effect’, which continues to have a splendid run, has now completed a remarkable 50 days in theatres. Reimbursement scheme announced at Cannes market.

India has launched a 30 filming reimbursement scheme for international productions shooting in the country as part of ambitions to establish itself as a global content hub.

The long-anticipated incentive was announced at the Cannes film market on Wednesday (May 18) by India’s information and broadcasting minister Anurag Thakur.

Up to 30 of qualifying production expenditure will be reimbursed by the Indian federal government, capped at 260,000 (INR20m). A further 5 will be granted – up to 65,000 (INR5m) for employing 15 or more manpower in India.
