Suriya’s much-anticipated fantasy-action film Kanguva, directed by Siva and co-starring Bobby Deol and Disha Patani, has a new release date. Initially scheduled for release on October 10, the film will now hit theaters on November 14, 2024, coinciding with Children’s Day. The shift in release date was confirmed by the film’s producers, Studio Green, on X (formerly Twitter).
They wrote, “The Battle of Pride and Glory, for the World to Witness. #Kanguva’s mighty reign storms screens from 14-11-24.” The decision was made to avoid clashing with Vettaiyan, the upcoming Rajinikanth-starrer directed by Tj Gnanavel, which is slated for a Dasara release.
Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan-starrer The Legend of Maula Jatt set to be released in Indian theatres
While fans are excited about the new release date, some expressed disappointment that the film won’t be released during Diwali, a major festival season for Tamil cinema.

The Black Mass, the title of actress Devanny Pinn’s directorial debut is not, as one might guess, a reference to a Satanic ritual. It’s the description one of the survivors gave of the man who, across one long night in 1978, attacked four of her sorority sisters, killing two of them as well as attacking a random woman he encountered nearby.
That man was Ted Bundy. That doesn’t mean that The Black Mass is a typical true-crime film or even a straightforward slasher film. Pinn and co-writers Eric Pereira and Brandon Slagle keep the killer in the background figuratively and literally for much of the film.

The Bombay High Court has dismissed pleas seeking a stay on the release of the Netflix India series “The Railway Men – The Untold Story of Bhopal 1984.” The series, inspired by events surrounding the Bhopal Gas Tragedy, faced opposition from two former employees of Union Carbide India Limited (Ucil), convicted in connection with the 1984 tragedy.
Justice Arif Doctor, presiding over a vacation bench on November 15, rejected the petitioners’ request, emphasizing their failure to establish a “very strong and compelling prima facie case” of defamatory material in the series. The court acknowledged that the Bhopal Gas Tragedy was a significant and unfortunate event well-documented in the public domain through various media.
Highlighting the disclaimer at the beginning of the series stating it as a “work of fiction” and only “inspired” by true events, the judge noted that the events surrounding the gas leak have been extensively discussed in documentaries, movies, and books over the years.

After his directorial debut “Rocketry: The Nambi Effect,” which bowed at the Cannes market earlier this year that he also wrote and co-produced, R. Madhavan is back solely as an actor with thriller “Dhokha – Round D Corner,” directed by Kookie Gulati (“The Big Bull”).
After stints in music videos, Khushalii Kumar makes her film debut, playing a woman with a personality disorder who is taken hostage by a terrorist. She is married to Madhavan’s character.
“It’s very tightly knit and any sort of revelation might give you a hint and ruin it for people,” Madhavan told Variety about the plot of the film. “It looks like a pretty straightforward story, but as the film progresses, nobody is actually who they seem.”
For Madhavan, after the rigors of “Rocketry,” being back to acting duties and getting back on set after long months away due to Covid-19 lockdowns, was a relief.

ReviewIf the film still strikes a chord somewhere despite all the bungling, it is because you know someone lived through this story. That alone makes it worth a watch.Sowmya RajendranScreengrabThe infamous spy case foisted on Isro’s star aerospace engineer Nambi Narayanan is a blot on the country’s history. Decades have passed since Nambi was arrested out of the blue, tortured, and declared a traitor for selling ‘rocket’ secrets to Pakistan. But the whys and hows of the case are still murky. Ahead of watching Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, directed by Madhavan who also plays the lead role, I read about the case once again to refresh my memory. How could a man who had been an integral part of Indian space science be branded so easily as a criminal? This is an intriguing and frightening real life story; a tale of incredible determination, hard work, deceit, betrayal...

Rocketry: The Nambi Effect
Starring R Madhavan,Simran
Directed by R Madhavan
Once in a while a film comes along to change lives. Tamil-Hindi star-actor R Madhavan’s directorial debut is no ordinary bio-pic. It takes us far away from the glorification of gangsters and the hagiographic tone of biopics on politicians, to give us a revelatory eye-opening story of a scientist who dedicated his life to enhancing India’s aerospace programme, only to be branded a spy.
What happened?
The film’s dramatic core is situated in the post-midpoint segment where we are made conversant with the stigmatization of Nambi Narayanan and his family. The scientist’s interrogation by a handful of seemingly ordinary investigators will send a chill up your smile. Every blow will make you flinch.
Writer-director Madhavan divides Nambi Narayanan’s story into two halves. In the first-half we see the young scientist’s stint in...
