The young Russian girl is so pretty and the so called religious guy is a loser. Dump him girl you are to good for him. He lies and is a womanizer besides that he is just goffey.
And i thought i had made stupid mistakes! The behaviors and choices are so outrageous and glaringly stupid. I do think some, if not all, the scenes and dialogues are mostly scripted for dramatic and shock effect. The 62 year old Jenny character is beyond naive, selling everything, leaving family, to move to India for a man who was secretly already married. The Brittany character, social influencer, rapper, leaves USA to marry a man from a traditional Muslim family. This one seems fake and scripted, too unbelievable. The other stories in which children are involved are just sad. All that, but it's really pretty entertaining. I find myself wanting to know the outcomes.
This is more of a review of TLC but also applies to this show and most of their shows. These shows are absolutely unwatchable to say the least. You will never make me believe that these shows are unscripted. The cast of these shows are terrible actors and even worse human beings. I can't for the life of me figure out why people would even want to waste their time watching any of these shows on TLC. I remember when TLC was the learning channel and was one of the best channels on television. You should change your channel name to the voyeur channel but if you are going to call yourselves TLC it should stand for terrible life choices because that's what these people are making.
I've always really enjoyed 90 Day Fiance, it had me hooked from the beginning: out of all the people in the world, these stories feature people who are stuck on ONE no matter how far and difficult.
Unfortunately, over time, the show has become to focused on each storyline. For example, if one couple's story is that their parents disprove that is all we will hear about. More and more scenes feel forced now.
What Id love to see more of: culture. What food and activities are new and different? What do they love and what is hard? I miss when they'd show the couple's doing normal things like grocery shopping.
I also wish they'd spend a bit more time explaining why each couple is going to the chosen country-many examples where I wish they'd explain why the spouse couldn't come the other way or how they chose.
This series stars a parade of superannuated, supersized, super-dumb inhabitants of some cosmic trailer park, all of them naively looking for some new "relationship" where they get to have things their way because their universe revolves around them (and sometimes their spoiled/needy offspring). They seem to believe that just turning up in a foreign country is all they need to do in order to prove their commitment to some deluded deal they have with another person whose language, culture and customs they don't understand and haven't even thought about.
They don't bring anything of real value to the table and apparently believe, for example, that any young guy in a less wealthy country will swoon at the sight of their ancient and bloated features.
I've been there, done that, got the t-shirt - and I'm nearing the end of the second decade of my Foreign Romance, but I regarded it as a serious enterprise that had to be carefully researched and talked through with my prospective partner, and even then we've had a few near misses!
I root for a couple of the people in each season but it's certainly clear that most of them haven't done their homework and are totally unrealistic, both about themselves and their prospective soulmates.
