Besides the some what comical yet immensely corny jokes, this show is in fact informative. Bring attention to a beautiful black family. Informing us about black figures we tend to shut the door to. As well as addressing obstacles in the black community. The message behind the show out shines any of its flaws.
The show is very predictable and a little corny, but we thoroughly enjoy watching it with our nine-year-old daughter. There aren't many shows on television that African-American families can enjoy together. Black-ish used to be one of them, but the content became a little too mature. This show makes us laughs and has several teachable moments.
I recommend it for families looking for something they can enjoy together. We hope they continue with several seasons.

When I first watched Blackish I felt the same as I did watching Family Reunion. It was ok. I really hated the title "Blackish". But after many episodes the acting got better and it's one of my favorites now. I think the same will happen with this series. If you keeps watching you'll see the actors become better as the get use to working with each other. In comedies timing is everything and you can see the improvement from the 1st episode and episode 5 & 6. I'm enjoying the series hope they get to do a second season. One question? Who are the people at the end of each episode? The dedications.
This one is just not for me, it belongs in the 90's. I prefer to not have my shows to push religion constantly. It takes place in a cliche make believe universe where kids never do anything bad besides mess up bible verses.
