Urn

URN is a nice little short story about a woman trying to scatter her mother's ashes. However, things don't go quite as planned, as she soon discovers - sometimes it's just too hard to let go of the past. And sometimes, the past doesn't let go of you.

For a horror short like this, URN was a pleasant surprise. It manages to create a deeply suspenseful atmosphere within just a few minutes, and the plot twists add layers that shift our understanding of earlier events. Further, it's surprisingly creepy for such a short film - and best of all, it achieves this without relying on cheap jump scares like many horror shorts do.
