Tom Rhys Harries is hard at work on the upcoming Clayface movie for DC Studios and we have more photos from set!
The 32-year-old actor was seen with a bloodied and bandaged faced while shooting a scene on Tuesday (September 2) in London, England.
Clayface will follow “an ascending actor (Harries) whose face is disfigured by a gangster. As a last resort, the actor turns to a fringe Elizabeth Holmes-style scientist (Naomi Ackie) for help,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
It looks like this scene will take place shortly after the attack. We also have photos of Tom wearing his eerie Clayface mask.

A new Clayface movie is officially on the way, and fresh reports are giving fans a clearer picture of what to expect. According to Nexus Point News, the film will tell a dark and disturbing story about a struggling Hollywood actor who ends up turning into a monster made of clay.
DC Studios has described the film as an R-rated body horror that will show the tragic origins of one of Batman’s classic villains.
The movie was originally thought up by horror filmmaker Mike Flanagan, known for Doctor Sleep and The Haunting of Hill House. Flanagan first became interested in Clayface back in 2021 and kept pitching his idea to DC. In March 2023, Flanagan and his producing partner Trevor Macy met with DC Studios bosses James Gunn and Peter Safran to talk about the project.
Reports say that from the start, the idea was for Clayface to be more than just a typical villain.

James Gunn Names Which Obscure Batman Character Would Get an 'Instant Green Light' for a Dcu Project
DC Studios' head James Gunn names the one obscure comic book character who he wants for a Dcu project.
Speaking to ScreenRant, Gunn responded to the question of what niche DC Comics character he would like to explore in the Dcu by saying, "Everybody knows I love Bat-Mite. Bat-Mite's like… my man. He's creepy as hell." Gunn added, "I think I’ve got to do something with Bat-Mite someday."
"I don’t know how to do it – unless Matt’s doing it in his script," Gunn said, referencing The Batman writer-director Matt Reeves, whose script for the upcoming The Batman sequel has been a source of major news in recent weeks. "I got his script yesterday and haven’t had a chance to read it yet. Maybe Matt Reeves put Bat-Mite in the script. If you did, Matt, I'm going to be really, really stoked. Instant green light."

There is nothing juicier in Hollywood than rumors about a star’s love life, and we will stand by this. From who’s dating whom to who cheated on whom, these burning questions will always make you curious, no matter how much you try to stay away from the gossip. Tom Rhys Harries & Laura Haddock, White Lines actors, once got tangled in a web of speculation about their romance.
The kinda crazy part? The two played the role of siblings in the mystery thriller TV series. Well, maybe it’s not that crazy…after all, it’s not like they are actually related by blood, yeah? Regardless, the two were once reported to be in a romantic relationship after Laura Haddock’s divorce from Sam Claflin.

Tom Rhys Harries is officially joining the DC Universe. He’s been picked to play the lead role in Clayface, the upcoming DC Studios movie. The news comes from Deadline, which reports that DC wanted to go with a “fresh face” for the role, and Harries got the part after beating out other rising stars like Jack O’Connell, Tom Blyth, Leo Woodall, and George MacKay.
Harries is a Welsh actor who’s been getting more attention lately. He played Eddie Walker in Suspicion on Apple TV+ and Axel Collins in Netflix’s White Lines. You might’ve also seen him in The Gentleman by Guy Ritchie, or in Kandahar with Gerard Butler. He even had a role in Doctor Who.

Among those in the mix has been Sinners bad guy Jack O’Connell, Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes‘ Tom Blyth and George MacKay, star of war movie 1917. Sources said DC toppers James Gunn and Peter Safran weren’t ready to pull the trigger on those that they met with and went deeper into the well.

Back in 2021, filmmaker Mike Flanagan let it be known on social media that he was interested in making a “standalone horror/thriller/tragedy” movie that would center on the Clayface character. A while after that, he confirmed that he had met with veteran DC movie producer Jon Berg to pitch a “horror-leaning” take on Clayface, as well as ideas for the DC properties Scarecrow, Justice League Dark, and Constantine. The meeting “kind of went nowhere.” But then, in March of 2023, Deadline broke the news that Flanagan had scheduled another Clayface pitch meeting, this time with DC Studios bosses James Gunn and Peter Safran. And at the end of last year, it was announced that Flanagan is officially writing a Clayface movie that will be part of the DC Universe film franchise that’s being overseen by Gunn and Safran. A few months ago, Speak No Evil director James Watkins was hired to take the helm…...

DC character Clayface is getting a live action movie written by Mike Flanagan (The Haunting of Hill House, Midnight Mass, Doctor Sleep, Life of Chuck) and directed by James Watkins (Eden Lake, The Woman in Black, Speak No Evil), and Deadline reports this morning that Welsh actor Tom Rhys Harries (Slaughterhouse Rulez) has landed the lead role.
The 34-year-old actor has also appeared in the television shows “Jekyll and Hyde” (2014), “Midsomer Murders,” “White Lines,” “Suspicion” and “Doctor Who,” as well as films including Hot Property, The Gentlemen, Kandahar, How Kids Roll, and The Return.
The Flanagan-penned Clayface movie is currently undergoing revisions, with writer Hossein Amini (Drive) coming on board to revise the script. Flanagan had recently revealed that his script was heavily inspired by the character’s appearance in “Batman: The Animated Series,” but there’s no telling how much that original script is going to change along the way.

One of the most intriguing projects in James Gunn and Peter Safran's new DC Universe is director James Watkins' body horror movie "Clayface." Based on a script by horror maestro Mike Flanagan and Hossein Amini ("Drive"), the film is slated to begin production this summer ... and now, we know who's playing the titular, shape-shifting monstrosity.
According to Deadline, Clayface will be portrayed by none other than Tom Rhys Harries, a relative unknown whom the powers that be have deemed ready to mold the character in his image. Casting a comparatively fresh face in the role is a smart move. Since the masses aren't familiar with Rhys Harries' game yet, he's not saddled with the kind of expectations a more established name with a particular acting style might face. This is a major benefit for a character as malleable as Clayface; after all, there have been so many versions of...

When it came to casting the lead in DC Studios’ next big movie Clayface, the studio went with a fresh face, that being Welsh actor Tom Rhys Harries.

The devil works hard, but Brian Jordan Alvarez works harder. For the past month, the creator, writer, director, and star of “English Teacher” has been dining out on the “I Love Your Daughter” meme to promote the FX comedy. The TikTok trend started in September after a user posted a clip from a Season 2 episode of “Gilmore Girls.” In it, Kirk (Sean Gunn), who has made a black-and-white short film, tells his girlfriend’s father, “I love your daughter.” When the father asks what he has to offer, Kirk says, “Nothing. Only this,” and proceeds to awkwardly dance. The sequence in the episode is set to Melle Mel‘s “White Lines (Don’t Do It),” but the TikTok edit swaps it out for Olly Alexander‘s “Breathe.”

Exclusive: Nick Hamm’s action-packed adaptation William Tell, starring Claes Bang and Golshifteh Farahani, has sold to the UK & Ireland and Germany-speaking territories ahead of its world premiere in Toronto next week.
Munich-based sales company Beta Cinema unveiled the all-rights deals to Altitude (UK & Ireland) and SquareOne Entertainment for Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, following the film’s well-attended press and industry screening in Toronto on Thursday.
Both distributors are targeting a release date in Q1 2025.
Beta Cinema has already announced deals with Sf Studios, Beta Fiction (Spain), Eagle Pictures (Italy), Dutch Filmworks (Benelux), Pris Audiovisuais (Portugal), Monolith Films (Poland), Cinemart (Czech Republic), Blitz (Former Yugoslavia), Ads (Hungary and Romania), Beta Film (Bulgaria), Tfg (Greece), Ukraine (Top Film) and The Plot Pictures (Middle East & Turkey) earlier this year.
Director Hamm’s adaptation of Friedrich Schiller’s classic play is fresh out of post-production.
Bang stars as titular hero opposite Farahani as his wife. They are joined by Connor Swindells, Jonah Hauer-King, Ellie Bamber, Rafe Spall and Emily Beecham, with Academy-Award winner Ben Kingsley and Academy-Award nominee Jonathan Pryce.
Altitude co-ceo Will Clarke said of the acquisition: “It’s fantastic to be working with such an incredible team of film-makers and our friends at Beta and we can’t wait to bring the epic and thrilling William Tell to audiences in the UK & Ireland.”
For his part, Thomas Sierk, Director of Acquisitions & Sales at SquareOne Entertainment, said: “The production truly succeeds to tell the story of the legendary freedom-fighter William Tell as an exciting, action-packed epic with an outstanding international cast.

The narrative unfolds in the 14th Century, when Europe’s nations fiercely vie for supremacy within the Holy Roman Empire. The ambitious Austrians, desiring more land, encroach upon Switzerland, a serene and pastoral nation.
Amidst this backdrop, William Tell, a formerly peaceful hunter, finds himself forced to take action as his family and homeland come under dire threat from the oppressive Austrian King and his ruthless warlords. Leading his fellow countrymen, Tell embarks on a courageous rebellion, seeking to defend their liberty and stand against the tyrannical forces that seek to subjugate them.
Hamm’s previous credits include Driven, which was selected as the closing film at the Venice Film Festival, Netflix’s White Lines and The Journey which premiered at the Venice and Toronto Film Festivals.
Piers Tempest and Marie-Christine Jaeger-Firmenich (Gigi & Nate) produce. Executive Producers include Jon Hamm, David Nichols and Francesco Marras.
William Tell is a Free Turn Films / Tempo production in association with Beta Cinema, WME Independent, Prime Focus Studios and Groenlandia and Cineroma Srl. The production is supported by Idm Südtirol and autonomous province of Bozen/Bolzano – South Tyrol and Quebec Film Production Services Tax Credit.
“We are delighted to partner with such highly esteemed distributors for the UK and Germany. The epic tale of William Tell presents a rich tapestry of themes and topics, providing a strong foundation for bold and ambitious theatrical campaigns in these two key European markets,” said Beta Cinema EVP Thorsten Ritter.
The film will world premiere in Toronto as a Gala Presentation next week and will then make its European presentation at the Zurich Film Festival in October. Beta Cinema handles international rights, alongside WME Independent who represent domestic rights.

Shaun and his best mate Ed are in trouble. They’ve discovered two zombies in their garden, and the lumbering flesh-eaters show no signs of stopping. However, Shaun and Ed have found one way of slowing the approach: throwing records.
And so, as the two zombies grow closer, Ed and Shaun rustle through the latter’s collection. “Sign o’ the Times … Purple Rain,” Ed suggests as projectiles, only to have Shaun tell him no. That is until Ed reaches a low point in Prince’s discography, the Batman soundtrack. “Throw it,” Shaun commands, striking a blow against the living dead.
The above scene is just one instance of the humor and horror that director Edgar Wright and his co-writer Simon Pegg bring to the RomZomCom Shaun of the Dead, released twenty years ago. Shaun (Pegg) and Ed (Nick Frost) spend a lot of time discussing their pop-cultural interests, even in the most dire situations.

Phoenix are keeping their collaboration kick going with a remix of their Alpha Zulu cut “All Eyes on Me” that features unlikely guest Pusha T. Check out the track below.
In addition to Pusha’s verses, the “All Eyes on Me” remix features vocals from Benee and production from Chad Hugo. The band shared their emphatic (and very French) gratitude in a press release: “A huge thank you to le Roi Pusha-t — most played artist in our backstage; to Chad Hugo, who always showed up when we were playing in Virginia, it’s about time we worked together! And to Benee, who worked at light speed to make this happen and added some magic. Merci!!!”
As random of a team-up as it may seem, it is fun to hear Pusha spit over Phoenix’s disco-punk instrumental, before Benne closes out the song with a mellow final verse. The track comes...

Duran Duran launched their 2023 “Future Past North American Tour” at Napa Valley’s BottleRock Festival on Saturday, May 27th.
To kick off their headlining set, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame group quickly dispatched several of their biggest hits, including “Hungry Like the Wolf,” “Notorious,” and “A View to a Kill.” In a career-spanning sequence befitting the ethos behind their 2021 LP, Future Past, the band reached as far back as their 1981 debut single “Planet Earth,” while touching on key eras with tracks like 1984’s “The Reflex,” 1993’s “Ordinary World,” and their latest LP’s “Anniversary.”
The night also included the first live rendition of the Future Past duet “Give It All Up” with Tove Lo, who performed with the band and separately earlier in the day. Following 1981’s “Girls on Film” as the main set’s closer, the band returned with a double Rio encore of “Save a Prayer” and the iconic title track.

If you weren’t able to catch director Elizabeth Banks’ horror comedy Cocaine Bear in theaters, Peacock has you covered. The viral film will stream exclusively on the platform beginning April 14th.
Inspired by the 1985 true story of a curious black bear who got into over 800 pounds of blow dumped over a Georgia national park, Cocaine Bear features a stacked cast led by Keri Russell, Margo Martindale, Alden Ehrenreich, O’Shea Jackson Jr., and a posthumous performance from Ray Liotta.
In our review, Senior Staff Writer Clint Worthington said the film keeps a “firm grasp on the likable characters they’ve set up” and described it as “an energetic throwback to devil-may-care creature comedies of yore like Tremors or Lake Placid.”
Naturally, the movie’s soundtrack features a song from Cocaine’s Dr. Seuss himself: Pusha T fully leaned into the Cocaine Bear story with “White Lines,” a reworking of Grandmaster...

Apple TV+ thriller “Suspicion” is set to hit the sales block in Cannes at this year’s MipTV market.
Keshet International has revealed that the eight-part series starring Uma Thurman will headline its drama slate at the spring TV market in France, which kicks off on April 17. The Israeli TV distributor will shop linear rights for the series.
Apple TV+ commissioned Keshet U.K. to produce “Suspicion,” which is based on the popular Israeli series “False Flag” and launched on the service in February 2022. Its sales foray marks one of the rare instances where an original on a streamer (that’s still available globally on the platform) has been sold on the open market for linear rights.
In recent years, major SVODs have been focused on keeping originals on their own platforms for extensive periods in order to drive subscribers. However, in this case, it’s Keshet International that holds...
