It's been an up-and-down couple of weeks for Netflix shows. We've seen some big renewals, including The Perfect Couple, Beauty in Black, Xo, Kitty, and Running Point. But, the biggest news was the shocking cancellation of The Recruit starring Noah Centineo.

We knew The Recruit might be in trouble way back at the end of 2024 when Netflix confirmed the show's second season would premiere one week after The Night Agent season 2. Things looked good for The Recruit out of the gate, but Netflix made the disappointing decision to cancel the show after two seasons. The series only lasted two weeks on the Netflix Top 10 shows list in the United States.

Netflix continues to dominate the streaming world, with several of its shows ranking at the top of the latest Nielsen streaming charts for the week of February 10 to February 16. Leading the pack is Sweet Magnolias, which secured the No. 1 spot by pulling in an impressive 1.2 billion minutes of viewing time.

Right behind Sweet Magnolias is Cobra Kai, which also gathered nearly 1.2 billion minutes as fans tuned in for the final episodes. Another popular Netflix reality show, Love Is Blind, also crossed the 1 billion minutes mark, proving that viewers remain invested in its dramatic love stories.

Meanwhile, The Night Agent wasn’t far behind, with 952 million minutes watched. The action-packed thriller has consistently performed well since its release.

Interestingly, Bluey, the beloved children’s show, was the only non-Netflix title to break into the Top 5, showing its lasting appeal to families.

Netflix dominated the Nielsen streaming charts from February 10 to February 16 with Sweet Magnolias leading the pack.

Coming in at No. 1 on the overall list, Sweet Magnolias racked up nearly 1.2B minutes viewed in the first full week following the release of Season 4. Cobra Kai came in a close second, also with almost 1.2B minutes viewed on the heels of the final episodes.

Love Is Blind also managed more than 1B minutes viewed, and The Night Agent came in just below that threshold with 952M minutes viewed. Bluey was the only non-Netflix title to crack the Top 5.

Apple TV+ boasted its fifth consecutive week on the streaming originals chart with Severance making it to fifth place, reaching a new weekly high of 681M minutes viewed. Nielsen says 60% of viewing came from the second season, which indicates that, at this point, a large portion of the audience was either rewatching Season 1 or...

Netflix’s Love Is Blind came out of the gate strong with the Valentine’s Day premiere of its eighth season.

The dating show accumulated 1.07 billion viewing minutes in the United States for the week of Feb. 10-16, according to Nielsen. That’s better than the premiere week totals for the past two cycles: Season six had 907 million minutes in the same week a year ago, and season seven opened to 1.05 billion minutes in early October.

Nielsen counts viewing of all episodes toward a show’s weekly tally, but the ratings service notes that 95 percent — our about 1.02 billion minutes — of Love Is Blind’s total was for the new batch of episodes that premiered Feb. 14.

Sweet Magnolias (1.16 billion minutes), which finished second overall a week earlier, moved into the top spot for Feb. 10-16 with a nine percent increase in viewing week to week. The final episodes of Cobra Kai...

With its Feb. 14 release to Netflix, Resident Alien made its debut on Nielsen’s overall U.S. streaming ranking (for the week of Feb. 10), landing at No. 10 with 717 million minutes viewed across its 34-episode library.

Resident Alien wrapped Season 3 on April 3, 2024. While it is renewed for Season 4 (jumping from Syfy to USA Network), its episode count and premiere date (still!) remain Tbd.

Whether you were a fan of the fourth season or not, you're probably wondering whether a Sweet Magnolias season 5 is happening at Netflix. Well, based on a new update, a new season may have been quietly confirmed. And that update doesn't come from the streamer.

According to the official website of the Writers Guild of America (WGA), the labor union for script writers in film, television, radio, and even online work, a writers room has been formed and could be opening up soon for Sweet Magnolias season 5. It lists showrunner and executive producer Sheryl J. Anderson returning in those roles.

There's also a couple of producers, a staff writer, and story editors established for the new season. Even though Netflix has not officially renewed or cancelled the drama, the writers room being set up does indicate that there's a high chance the series has already gotten the renewal behind closed doors,...

Netflix’s spy series, The Night Agent, kept its spot as the most-watched show in the U.S. during the week of Feb. 3-9. It earned a massive 1.52 billion minutes of viewing time, marking its third straight week at No. 1. Even though its views dropped by 48% compared to the previous week, The Night Agent still stayed ahead of Sweet Magnolias, which earned 1.07 billion minutes.

During the week of the Super Bowl, overall streaming numbers dropped a bit. The top 10 shows combined for 9.27 billion minutes, down from 10.87 billion the week before, a decrease of about 15%.

Other shows on the list included Netflix’s The Recruit, which gained 956 million minutes, though it was down by 20% from the previous week. Apple TV+’s Severance saw a slight increase in views, reaching 582 million minutes, as its second season continued.

The Night Agent continued its run as the top streaming series in the United States in early February.

The Netflix spy drama captured 1.52 billion minutes of viewing time for the week of Feb. 3-9, the show’s third straight week in the top overall spot. Though it fell off by about 48 percent from the previous week, The Night Agent’s viewing total was still well ahead of the second-place show, Netflix’s Sweet Magnolias (1.07 billion minutes).

On the week of the Super Bowl — which recorded a record audience on Feb. 9 — overall streaming volume was down some, at least among the top shows. Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson’s upcoming Apple TV+ comedy series “Brothers” has added five new cast members.

Oona Yaffe (“Sleepy Hollow”), Highdee Kuan, Nolan Almeida, Ella Grace Helton, and Noah Carganilla are now set to appear in the series. Along with McConaughey and Harrelson, the cast also includes Holland Taylor, Natalie Martinez and Brittany Ishibashi.

The 10-episode “Brothers” was originally announced in 2023. The official logline states, “Matthew and Woody’s friendship is tested when their combined families attempt to live together on Matthew’s ranch in Texas.”

Netflix’s The Night Agent topped Nielsen’s weekly U.S. ranking of streaming originals for a third straight week, yada yada yada…. But the other headline involved tried-and-true NCIS, which made its 201st appearance on Nielsen’s Top 10 overall ranking, which included acquired series and movies.

Older NCIS seasons stream on Netflix, about half of them can be found on Hulu, and all 22 seasons live on Paramount+. Nielsen notes that NCIS‘ 201 appearances add up 137.3 billion minutes, or more than 261,000 years, of viewing. In 2024 alone, the royal we streamed nearly 36 billion minutes — or by my math, more than 75,000 years.

2025 is here! Netflix Games lineup looks a little bit different from when we first covered what’s coming up this year. Here’s an updated look at all the confirmed games in 2025 and beyond. This preview will be updated as more announcements for Netflix’s upcoming slate of titles are made.

2024 was a busy year for Netflix Games, with over 40 new arrivals in total, although we have begun to see the first set of Netflix Games leave the service, headlined by Grand Theft Auto III and Vice City. That brings Netflix’s library of titles to well over 100 games on mobile, with a further dozen available only on its Cloud Beta service. That list is set to continue growing throughout 2024 and the years to come. Per Netflix, as of February 2024, they have over 90 games in development at their studios and externally.

“La Dolce Villa” debuted as Netflix’s most-watched movie of the week just in time for Valentine’s Day.

The Italy-set movie scored 19.8 million views from its Feb. 13 debut through Feb. 16, making it the No. 1 most-watched English movie during the week of Feb. 10. Viewership for “La Dolce Villa” outpaced “Kinda Pregnant,” which took the No. 2 spot with 13.7 million views, as well as “Aftermath,” which scored third place with 9.9 million views.

The “Shrek” franchise took three of the spots on the Top 10 movies list this week, with “Shrek” taking fourth place with 7 million views, “Shrek 2” coming in the No. 5 slot with 6.1 million views and “Shrek the Third” coming in at No. 10 with 3.6 million views. Pass the margaritas, and keep them coming! Sweet Magnolias fans, we're getting some less than thrilling news from Netflix out of the streamer's most recent Top 10 viewership report. While two of its most recent action-packed original series continued to thrive, the latest season of the fan-favorite romantic drama series returned from its two-year hiatus with less than stellar numbers.

In its first three days of release during the week of Feb. 3-Feb. 9, Sweet Magnolias season 4 (which premiered on Feb. 6) brought in 4 million views globally, which translates to 33.7 million hours viewed. The series ranked in fourth place for the week behind The Night Agent season 2, The Recruit season 2, and American Manhunt: O.J. Simpson.

It was followed on the streamer’s list of the top 10 English-language movies of the week by “Back in Action,” charting for the fourth week in a row with 9.2 million views. But the No. 2 most-watched title overall was on the non-English-language movies chart: Korean Thriller “Bogotá: City of the Lost” debuted with 13 million views in its first six days on Netflix. “Lucca’s World” came behind it with 9.4 million views in its second week on the chart.

The most watched TV series of the week was also a non-English title: Swedish crime drama “The Åre Murders” debuted with 8.8 million views in its first four days on Netflix.

Amy Schumer overtook Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx on this week’s Netflix Top 10 as her new film Kinda Pregnant came in at No. 1 on the English films list.

With 25.1M views in the first few days after release on February 5, it was also Netflix’s most-watched title of the week. Back in Action held onto second place, though, with another 9.2M views from February 3 to February 9.

Meanwhile, Netflix’s TV slate has been struggling a bit over the last few weeks. The Night Agent Season 2 once again claimed the top spot on the English TV list with another 7.3M views, which is about half the views it secured last week.
