Dream Girl was made to fulfill the second year final assignment for the Motion Picture Arts program at Laurentian University in Sudbury Ontario Canada. As such the assignment came with certain constraints that the director had to follow.

Those constraints were: 1. Subject matter must significantly concern "romantic love." 2. Must have simultaneity via split screen a minimum of three times wherein the events depicted in each coupled image must be recorded simultaneously with two cameras. 3. Each perspective of the coupled image must reveal unique and significant information regarding the recorded events, therefore exemplifying that perspective is inherently limited.
