A tween focused sit-com.
Has its moments where you think the writers have just nailed it, then other moments where you know they are writing for an audience who doesn't know any better, and they treat the audience as imbeciles. For example, accessing other people's personal information from government agencies, by simply 'sending away' for the files. In real life, there would be almost no way to access that kind of information. There were times where it just was not based in reality.
But it is unique compared to most tween shows, and season 2 especially shows how some relationships can be complicated. The acting does a decent job, but don't expect too much laughs. The comedy is laugh-track induced, very basic situational humor, most of what could have been written by anyone's dad. But sometimes, just sometimes, it hits the mark.
I've watched few episodes, because Melissa is there. She nailed it but the other side of this show is so bad. The Nick character Im not sure if its the actress but it is so bad played, so bad. I feel faked haha
one review here was right, if you have nothing else to watch or you just need some back up to ironing etc its good...
I love this show. The best thing about it is the premise. It's great fun watching Nick bond with her foster family while simultaneously robbing them. The actress who plays Nick is actually really good.
The show is sometimes cheesy, but as someone who grew up watching and enjoying sit-coms in the early 2000s cheesy doesn't bother me.
This show is fun. The lead actress is great. Definitely deserves a watch.
