The Pit

This was so bad it's downright embarrassing.

I had followed him earlier in his career doing Survivorman and even some of his other shows but this the worst of the worst, it's almost as bad as his Bigfoot show, you know, that one with the fake puppets and whatnot? 100% proven to be fakes and he promoted that. Seems like he's making a lot of bad career decisions or doesn't have any.

If it was a story you'd read in a few pages, this might be ok. The acting was fine but the dialog was too uninteresting to me to carry on so long.

The set bugged me too. In theory both men could fall into the same pit, but this opening was so small that it seemed unlikely. That would be overlookable if not for the inexplicably weak attempts to escape by two apparently relatively capable men. It might have worked for me if the hole had been different or if they had attempted to dig as if their lives depended on it. But it seemed like they would have succeeded if they'd really tried.

Maybe the point is that Mister Survival is lame and, as with most people claiming expertise, doesn't really know as much as they believe they do... as in, two hillbillies that think they're smart? If so I'd add a couple stars for theme and ironic humor, but I don't think that's what this movie was going for.

Overall this felt like a play that was movie-ized but maybe should have stayed on the stage.

I loved it ! We don't know what's going to happen so it keeps us entertained! I am easily distracted and this one kept my attention until the very end so that says something !

Why would these two characters ever go out on a camping trip together? They don't like each other and it's not as if they have some plan on what they are going to do out in the wild...

They are just too unpleasant to feel anything for, you sort of just want them to die to make the film shorter. Much shorter.

The filming is low budget, which can be real good sometimes, but the fighting scenes are so badly done that there is nothing to it more than just fill-out.

I used to love watching survival man before he started to claim that he was the only "real" one out there, which is just bitterness, and I guess he is trying to make some money out of his old fame, but he is no actor, in my never humble opinion. (see, I am like him in that way)

But what really makes this movie bad is that they're just not likable at all.
