Alternate Ground

This movie would have been so much better if they had cast anyone that could act. It was like the cast were just random people off the street that were asked if they wanted to be in a movie. The parents were so over the top.

And used some sort of coherent script. Felt like someone's 9th grade homemade film.

I thought maybe the reveal might be worth it but nope. Failed there too.

This was 90 minutes of my life that I will never get back.

I'm giving it two stars because the music and the outdoor shots were somewhat decent. I live in a very arid climate so it was nice to see trees and foliage other than cacti.

Today I logged on to IMDb - driven by an unstoppable force, set in motion by watching this film. As I endured the continuous onslaught of scenes that 'Alternate Ground' provides - I felt truly challenged to imagine a more horrifying mixture of desultory acting and zealless camera-work.

What made it a truly exceptional experience for me, was actually coming here to write the above, and seeing this title has in fact won 13 awards.

This film fully opened my eyes to the exciting new depths the bar has apparently been lowered. So thrilled to see what the future still holds!

I literally just created an account to post my first ever movie review on IMDB to say... or well, ask... is this movie supposed to be a joke? Or a middle school project? I've never seen such horrific acting aside from the kid who plays Riley. Painful to watch. Avoid at all costs! I want to sue for the one hour and thirty two minutes of my life I lost thanks to this atrocity.

The acting is bad across the board. So much so, that it doesn't get distracting, as you just expect every actor to perform really poorly, and focus on the story.

I wonder if the director is the one to blame for the bad acting. Also Owen Myre, who plays the main character, delivers the best performance in comparison to the rest of the crew, which is a good thing.

Overall, it's definitely not the best movie I have watched, but the way the story is told and the take they have on the aliens were more than enough to keep me watching to the end.

The end can be frustrating for people who'd expect that everything to be fully explained by the end, but that's not how real encounters with extra-terrestrials work.

Horrifyingly BAD, student film, or made for Lifetime movie. Yes it is that bad. Contains horrible story, horrible acting, really no effects worth mentioning. It's just bad. But, I made it to the end so it gets a 2/10.
