    VERY CONFUSED

So I get that joy is/ was a prostitute trying to get out and live a better life with her daughter etc she also did a lot of stupid things but anyways What I'm confused about is the part where the police came to her home....why was she deported?

Was the madam and the crew arrested and deported as well or was it just her...I find it confusing because of all the effort she made to expose these people.

Also when you see her at the market place with that money what was that all about was she looking to go back to Austria and doing the same thing again or what, can someone please explain.

    Thank you.

    Beliefs, life, survival.

Excellent film on the vicious circle of prostitution. That's the core of the movie: even if you get out of the business, something so intense happened that you will never be the same, and "virtue" will ellude you, even in subliminal ways.

But on the other hand this is a story about Nigerian women who go to work as prostitutes in Austria and get into debt, after making an oath with a juju priest to enforce the contract that the women "sign": it is a cultural bind, a process of enslavement from which there is no escape. For you may become "free" after paying your debt to a madam, but at home your soul is still a prisoner in the form of a charm that the juju priest keeps with him, until a relative breaks the spell, after the debt is settled...

Beliefs, life, survival. A very good film, made by a German filmmaker of Iranian origins. Many awards in Venezia, Chicago, Sevilla, London and other international events. Highly Recommended.

    What was that?

OK, I watched it all the way thru and just kept saying, WHY? I understand being trapped into prostitution and have to work your way out... There is way too many plot holds and things that don't make any sense. I'm giving it a 6 out of 10 Stars because I know some work went into this. Maybe I will watch the ending again to try and figure what the hell happened! LOL, No spoilers but, watch the throwing money around and say WTF?

Worth to watch. Is not a sex movie

Show the inside story of how a prostitution ring that exploit African women is managed in Europe (Austria). The film show the raw realities this poor women face without gory excesses and alluring sex scenes. This is not a sex movie but a fiction about a pitiful everyday reality with a particular outlook. It has also a surprising ending that leaves room to inner debate.

    Beautiful, moving

This story was moving and beautiful, we need more stories like this being told. It's sad a lot of people didn't understand it.
