    Hilarious 80's action homage

Yes, that's right this movie is called Commando Ninja. If that sounds good to you then you won't be disappointed. This is mostly a homage to Commando and any number of those Cannon Films Ninja flicks. This also has elements of pretty much every 80's action movie ever made. Growing up in the 80's myself, I thought this was hilarious. This delivers the goods with an overload of testosterone with lots of muscles, guns, babes, extreme violence and of course lots of ninjas. The tone of this is very cheesy (in a good way) and very tongue in cheek. Commando Ninja is on 11 at all times and sometimes borders into the absurd. I did enjoy this a bit and was a crowdfunded film, so I want to thank all the donors to that getting this made. The lead for this is in legitimate action hero shape and is very credible for the part. If you are a fan of 80's action movies, you need to check out Commando Ninja.

    Stupid fun!

You gotta love a film whose tagline is "50% commando, 50% ninja, 100% American".

The 1980's has produced some of the "greatest" classic action films, "Commando Ninja" simply continues this tradition with "great" dialog, "fast-paced" action scenes, "top-notch" special effect, an "intelligent" plot and lots of explosions, decapitations, amputations and severed arteries.

I bet Stallone and Schwarzenneger must feel a little envious for not being part of this cinematographic masterpiece.

And best of all, it has been dubbed!

Commando Ninja is the best thing I've seen in a long while. Kudos to the Freench for making one of the best American Action films!

Cheap knockoff for modern era of knuckledraggers

It's a boring, predictable knockoff of the golden era of action movies, filled with 2-bit humor for the modern masses (the same masses that speak in emojis, have no notable skills or any form of success, can't formulate proper sentences, and certainly can't handle the basics of adult life).

If that's you, which it likely is, you will love this movie!

If you enjoyed the movies of yesteryear because they were sincerely trying to make a good movie, and failed miserably, then you won't like this (for example, anything from The Cannon Group). Or, if you liked the movies because they actually had masculine characters that would stop at nothing to wipe out the bad guys (and remain unharmed the entire time), then you won't like this. Why? Well, similarly to the people who view this movie in a positive light, 'Commando Ninja' just isn't genuine at all. It is too forced, and that never works out well for movies, music or humor.

Fun 80's Riff tthat Make Us Want to Go Commando

I am an 80's fan. I love cheese, sexy women, action, adventure and machismo. Modern movies seem to lack all these things. The grit, the blood and the sweat is lost in today's movie making experience.

Then independent film makers emerge and give us something mindbogglingly glorious like Commando Ninja, which can be found via youtube.

It seems only way modern movies can capture the lost enthusiasm of the 80's today, is to make a small production yet innovative, whacky, balls to the wall, cheesy nostalgia satire/riff of those movies we once loved as kids in the 80's and early 90's.

Commando Ninja seems to combine Godfrey Ho(Director of many 80's Ninja movies), with Arnold Schwarzenegger's Predator-esque ninjas, and throws it in a blender with some funky, 80's inspired schlock and music and you know what, it works....it works well.

The plot fairly simple. A man on a mission to rescue his family and friends, who are being killed off by enemies from the past. Then you throw in tons of cheese, revenge, and testosterone filled heroism. It's a a mix of flashbacks and the current day 1980's settings and fans of 80's action heroes will spot homages to Rambo, Predator, American Ninja and everything inbetween.

The movie is loads of fun and I highly recommend watching it, then purchasing the soundtrack if the musical score impressed you as it did me.

I give it an easy 9.5 out of 10. Tons of fun, action, homages, innovative film making that reminds us that small production values, nostalgia and testosterone can work.

Amazing. As long as you check your expectations in at the door.

I thought this film was brilliant. It hits every single '80s cliche. Magnum PI, Commando, Predator, Miami Vice, any jean claude van damme film u name, terminator... the list just goes on. I will admit i do like my s****e films but that shouldn't put you off. Anyone over the age of 35 or so will find enough pop culture references to keep them at least chuckling throughout the film if not outright laughing. Definatly worth a watch and one of the more amusing films i've seen. Even down to the little touches like solar panels in 1986 and film posters that didn't come out till 2-3 yrs after when it's supposed to be set. (spoiler) I loved the way the kid managed to set a trap for the ninja in the time it took said ninja to walk up the stairs. The only film i can think of that was better for this whole schlock type thing was Iron Sky 2. The Coming Race.

[after Hopkins is stabbed in the back by the Red Ninja]

Leeroy Hopkins: [groaning] Fuck! If I knew I was gonna die today, I would've gotten laid!

John Hunter: Stop the bullshit, Hopkins! You're gonna make it! Hold on!

Leeroy Hopkins: You know, there's something I never told you, John.

      [groaning]

Leeroy Hopkins: You know all that racist bullshit?

      [groaning]

Leeroy Hopkins: My old man... he died in a concentration camp.

John Hunter: Shit, Hopkins. I didn't know that.

Leeroy Hopkins: [laughing] He fell from the guard tower!

[they both laugh until Hopkins loses his breath]
