Interesting guests and topics but ...

Regina Meredith is like one of the worst hosts of a talk show ever. Essentially, despite the luminous guest list, all one ever hears on her show Open Minds is Regina interviewing herself. Guests hardly to get say more than their names! I understand Regina may be personally knowledgeable and invested in the subject matter of her guests however, we would like to hear what the guests actually have to say not always what Regina has to say. Regina's style is more suited to a monologue than an interview with another. I may cancel my GAIA membership because Regina is just THAT bad.

Unfortunately, the same can be said for George Noory who seems a really nice guy but for the reasons noted above with Regina Meredith, I cannot watch his Beyond Belief show on GAIA.

Wonderful guests, but let them speak.

The guests on Open Minds are amazing and high calibre. It's a great program format. Regina is clearly knowledgeable, well-researched, experienced, articulate and intelligent, but instead of sitting back and letting her guests tell their story, she constantly interrupts them or cuts them off, usually to display her own knowledge about the topic being discussed. It's as though she's already decided exactly what's going to be discussed and wants to maintain tight control of the narrative, deaf to the nuggets of gold pouring out of her guests. Most are too polite or probably not in a position to say 'please let me finish'. Her interview style spoils what could be one of the best programs on Gaia. I recognise and congratulate Regina's hard work, dedication and passion in the field over many years.

    Off-putting Interviewer

I am so thankful for the one other review on here because the person said everything I feel about watching Regina conduct an interview. (I'm currently a half hour into the Sandra Ingerman episode and would have quit a while ago if it wasn't for my interest in hearing Sandra's wisdom.)

Regina is very off-putting as she readily cuts off and speaks for Sandra. She seems very self-absorbed and condescending. Maybe she is going through grief or some sort of crisis because the disconnection is palpable.

What I do know for sure is that I will not watch another one of her shows.

As an aside, I'd appreciate if Regina didn't constantly fidget with her thumb/finger as it's distracting (that's on me as I have misokinesia), but understand that she likely needs to do this for some reason I don't know about-adhd and/or anxiety. Who knows. Perhaps she could do it under the table or the camera angles could cut this out. Anyway...

I never look at IMDB let alone leave a review. I needed to offer my thoughts somewhere though and Gaia doesn't seem to have a place for feedback. How does nobody on Gaia say or do anything to improve the show/interview style? It's bizarre to me. I haven't been this triggered by someone in a looooong time. I guess, if anything, Regina's offered me some unanticipated shadow work.
