Sad and tragic but well done

As a man I found this movie so terribly sad, but even sadder is that it's based on a true story. We have to stop domestic violence there's no place for it in our society. It was so well produced and totally believable. I'll always remember this movie, most I watch then kind of forget but not this.

Powerful and Informative for all teens, parents and school staff

This movie had some very emotional and powerful scenes. The acting was great and the movie was a great example of what domestic violence looks like in a teen relationship. I hope teenagers watch this and consider telling someone if they or one of their friends is involved in a situation like this. I hope it bring courage to many to be able to speak up. It can save lives and brings awareness to all involved.

    Lifetime movie

Laura (Shannen Doherty) was initially fine with her daughter Sarah (Matreya Scarrwener) dating the popular cute jock Rob (Callan Potter). In the present time, Rob is on trial where Laura is testifying against him.

This is Lifetime doing the standard another girl with abusive boyfriend. I'm here for Doherty, but Scarrwener is doing the heavy lifting. She's an interesting young actress who is fully capable of this role. If it wants to do something a little off-center, it could make Nikki the lead. Of course, it could be Shannen Doherty's movie, but she's probably sick or recovering at this time. This is fine for what it is. It is also a little hard to watch at times.

    Intense and still relevant

Good update to the domestic violence for teens. I remember the older movie. Fred Savage was wrong in the first one too angelic looking.

The acting is good. The violence is quite spontaneous looking well acted and scary.

I haven't seen a serious issue Lifetime movie for a while and this is a welcome departure from the psycho thriller theme.

Nice to see Shannen so healthy and pretty again after her illness.

About the judge's closing statement in this remake

The closing statement that the judge in this remake made was a lot similar to the closing statement the judge in the original version made.

"How many of you have been hit? Who among you slaps your girlfriend? Well, this is against the law; it's wrong... and you watched it happen to Sarah and you did nothing. You have a responsibility to the people you care about. If you see them hurting or see them in trouble, you step in and do something about it. Tell someone so that this does not happen again."

Silence has claimed the lives of many. While one may understandably feel as though they have no right to intervene, abuse and sexual assault cases can prove to have tragic consequences. Help the ones you love. Tell someone, and urge them to do the same.

      [last lines]

Judge Elizabeth Hanover: Please be seated. Rob Tennison. In the murder of Miss Sarah Collins, I must find you guilty of all charges. Between the year 2001 and 2012, we lost 6,488 souls in battles fought in Iraq and Afghanistan. But during that same time period, 11,766 women were killed, but by their own partners. This is a war that we, in this country, refuse to address. It has to stop because things have gotten so dire that this is what a victory looks like and I am sorry folks but today was no victory. This case should not be closed because when it comes to domestic violence, there needs to be change on a cultural level and that change needs to start with each and every one of you.
