If the writers and producer intended for Butchers to be mind-numbing~ score. They nailed it.
The title fits Owen and Oswald like a glove. The idea of being stuck in the middle of freaking no-where with psychotic soulless maniacs who have absolutely no decency whatsoever nor a scintilla of regard for human life itself... this is the stuff nightmares are made of. Or night terrors.
I inadvertently hollered a couple of times. But it also gave me like just a sense of disgust. Like a funk. The kind that makes you dizzy.
I think next time I'll read the reviews first. Butchers is graphic. I wish I could've been a bit more mentally prepared for that.

Really enjoyed the film as it reminds me of some of the best Horror movies of the 1980s; young, hot couples getting in hot water after going on a trip.
What is especially good is that the makers didn't over egg it or get greedy with huge amounts of ridiculously gory sequences, the plot moves fast and it's subtlety is what makes it more effective as you are locked in to believing this could happen. One of the lead characters is Owen played by Simon Phillips he has great on screen prescence, the fact he's capable of being tender to his victims and brother as well as a brute makes him all the more chilling. The movie is beautifully shot in a lush green deserted location perfect for Horror. The female leads Julie Mainville, Samantha de Benedet and Anne Carolyne Bennett are all great and the fear and terror we see in them is what makes the movie fill you with chills.
If you want a straight up scary, jumpy, 80s inspired horror this ticks all the boxes.

They're butchers, and they butcher people. The character development wasn't great, but O was engaged for the entire movie and the acting of the brothers was very good. It's a neat little slasher with a bit of gore, no real twists so it's good to watch when you don't want to think too much!
Entertaining, but we have seen it all before.
Just another wrong turn/texas chainsaw movie.
Texas chainsaw meets wrong turn.
acting is ok, storyline is simple and very predictable. effects are ok.
lots of screaming and a few jumps, a monster. kind of deiverance family bump into a group of teenage kids.
there is a lot of movies of this ilk out there that are a lot worse, but there is far more out there that are far better.
its worth a watch , but only once.
