The acting of the two lead gentleman is absolutely fantastic. They're really talented. I think they're worth the watch. Just be aware there's some pregnancy violence or whatever. I wasn't ready for that.
Entertaining, but we have seen it all before.
Just another wrong turn/texas chainsaw movie.
If you're going to make a movie and pull from other movies, the goal should be to make it better. This movie did not do that. In fact, it made them worse. 0 story or background and just straight to two brothers who kill. A reason isn't always needed but in this case it would've helped. A lot. And is country redneck accent normal for the backwoods of Ontario? It didn't seem authentic in the least bit. The moment that girl intentionally pulled the string in the woods I literally said out loud "she deserves everything that is about to happen to her."
Really enjoyed the film as it reminds me of some of the best Horror movies of the 1980s; young, hot couples getting in hot water after going on a trip.
What is especially good is that the makers didn't over egg it or get greedy with huge amounts of ridiculously gory sequences, the plot moves fast and it's subtlety is what makes it more effective as you are locked in to believing this could happen. One of the lead characters is Owen played by Simon Phillips he has great on screen prescence, the fact he's capable of being tender to his victims and brother as well as a brute makes him all the more chilling. The movie is beautifully shot in a lush green deserted location perfect for Horror. The female leads Julie Mainville, Samantha de Benedet and Anne Carolyne Bennett are all great and the fear and terror we see in them is what makes the movie fill you with chills.
If you want a straight up scary, jumpy, 80s inspired horror this ticks all the boxes.

This is a nothing movie. It's a bare bones knock off of Texas Chainsaw without any of the iconic characters that make it interesting. There's not even any lore or story here to explain any of it. People's cars break down while passing through and a few people show up to dispatch them...off screen mind you. There's not even any gore to be found here. There's a little bit of Hills Have Eyes in that one woman is impregnated, but it's literally 10 minutes of the entire movie.
It's shot well is the only positive, they had some good angles and production, but there is no real story. The acting is what it is...there's no story so it's just them spouting their lines. It's not scary, or dramatic, or mysterious...it's literally just 2 groups of people breaking down and being preyed upon by southern hillbilly stereotypes...and they weren't even good or had any accent.
It's just a trash movie shot with a good camera, don't bother.
