The basic question - has a plot this film ? Except the canister and its open, only fragments of sketch. The end is so ambiguous, the joy of women so strange than you seems deserve more.
I found this a potentially interesting short film. I could understand the basic plot, i.e.: A starship is damaged, and two young women escape to a barren planet with a device.
Interspersed with scenes of the two young women walking are videos showing someone on that starship making various statements as smoke wafts behind them, alarms sounds, and flashing lights all seem to declare disaster is imminent.
And, here lies the problem. The videos from the doomed ship are almost completely unintelligible. The actress speaks so fast, and uses technical terms that are impossible to understand because they are spoken so quickly. The special effect creating interference in the video during these transmissions simply adds to the noise.
Things are not much better with the two girls on the planet. Their conversation is elliptical, and sometimes also unintelligible. So, we never really learn what they're about until the enigmatic finale that leaves all sorts of questions unanswered.
In the end, why the girls are on the planet, what the device that they activate does, and how all this is supposed to make them feel happy is completely confusing.
At the very least, the creator of this flawed, but promising, short film should consider adding closed captioning so that viewers can figure out what everyone is saying. And, perhaps, offer a brief prologue to help explain part of what they're about.
I suspect this may be a case of the writer, crew and actors being so familiar with all the dialogue and plot themselves, that they presume everyone watching this will follow--and understand--what's going on since they already do.
I gave it four stars because the film has promise, especially since a few minor additions as I suggest would make if far more compelling.
