Looks promising, but I really suggest you play the videogame first: that's the source material for this anime. If at the end of the anime there are still unclear points about the story the game should be able to answer those ;)
About the first 2/3 of the show feel like you're watching a weird dream, which I mean in a good way. The last 1/3 feels like a middle-schooler trying to sound deep. It's not as gross or violent as some reviews suggest. Overall, I'd compare it to an above-average video game movie from the mid-'00s. Take this info as you will.
What happens when the lives of two people from very different backgrounds intersect at a mutual desire? Something at once bizarre, touching and unforgettable. This is the story of those two lives, of a bond forged by a fragile obsession with death. Their relationship is unusual but inexpressibly heartrending and beautiful, and it will take up residence in a corner of your heart without permission, maybe forever.
Angels of Death is not as driven by events as it is by the moods it evokes, the strange and disorienting experience it provides to viewers. The graphics are immersive and haunting, the soundtrack evocative and poignant. It is devastatingly and terrifyingly beautiful, and will stay with you long after the end. (By the way, do yourself a favor and search up the OST on YouTube!)
In the first month or so after watching it, I simply thought of it as a "super weird but interesting show" and assumed I would not think about it much from then on. I was wrong. The protagonists began appearing again and again in my mind and grew on me more each time. I still do not understand why these two captivate me so much more than any other character, but one thing I can confidently say is that I have never seen anything like Angels of Death before and have yet to find anything like it since.
I should warn that this show will not appeal to everyone. It caters to a specific 'appetite' - the style is unsettling, surreal and has abstract elements that may require some thinking over. To some, it will be nothing more than 'edgy garbage.' But as for me, I have seen few titles with as meaningful of a story that is so brief and small-scale, few that manage to be such a visceral, alarming and sublimely dark experience that is set in a such a self-contained universe with a relatively simple storyline.

I really do love the character development of the main characters Rachel and Zach, seeing their bond overtime is truly amazing.
Encouraged by the high IMDb score I watched the first episode and it was quite a disappointment. Sick story with disturbing characters, annoying music and voice acting, and not a lick of originality. A 12 year old's wet dream of overhyped violence with an obvious intent to up the ante compared to the last similar anime, that makes mature audiences either yawn or want to vomit.
