    Why do they bother?

While away on business I need to occupy my time and film screenings are a great one. I managed to watch this little gem during something called the creepy crypt or something to that effect. It's one of those found footage things and after seeing several good reviews online I was quite excited when leaving my hotel room to go and see it. The crowd were lively, the location was a bit cramp but okay but the movie was terrible. I wasn't going to leave a review but the creators are very vocal about putting reviews on here and/or redbox so I indulge. It's a dark gloomy film with no character its all been done before and I don't understand why people make these movies. Found footage is dead, its been done time and time again and needs a rest.

To summarize it's not as bad as some of the stuff my hubby has made me watch over the years but since I had netflix in my hotel room I should have stayed there.

    Mid but charming

I love extremely obscure homegrown and indie projects, especially found footage ones, so I decided to support the creator and watch this little film. A lot of people have called it things like "one of the scariest movies" and "one of the best found footage films," it is absolutely not any of those things. Some have called it "generic" and "trashy" and "amateur," and it is all of those things to a certain extent. That being said, I found this film to be quite charming for what it was. I really enjoyed the first two segments, and the frame narrative was very interesting, although I felt that the third segment wasn't very good. The overuse of jumpscares is also really cheesy and lame, although that's mainly just because I'm not easily startled. I wasn't expecting anything on the level of the VHS series or the Blair Witch, so I'm able to look past its lower quality, in fact I actually have a soft spot for trashy indie stuff. It's probably in large part due to my rose-tinted glasses when it comes to found footage and indie stuff, but yeah, fun film.

    Truly awful

Though a horror fan I've failed to see the merit in found footage movies though liking anthology films I decided to give this a chance and regretted it by about 10 minutes in. It's a badly lit unoriginal crapfest that should be a free movie on Kings of Horror and not a paid rental. Then I go and look at the reviews and lo and behold it's loaded with 10/10's from fresh accounts with no other activity! Believe the negative reviews and trust me when I say it's awful not the positive ones made by the creator and his friends/family. Not scary, not well made, not watchable.

    Harrowing

Found Footage movies are usually bad lets not kid ourselves here they are the first port of call for zero budget filmmakers and they tend to absolutely stink. The Fear Footage is an example of this, the money clearly had absolutely no money no actors and nobody with the ability to write a good script. I think its the height of disrespect that the creators didn't even acknowledge the cast on this page as well and the hefty number of 10's and identically worded reviews/cloned reviews kills the films credibility even more. Despite there being lots of bad found footage movies there are some good ones so skip over this and find one of them.

    Waste of time and money

Uglier than Blair Witch More poorly written than Skew Less original than Paranormal Activity

This is by far the worst found footage movie I've ever seen. The genre still has legs and there are still original movies using it but these creators decided to play it safe and remake the same tired plot thats been done a thousand time prior. Difference is they decided to make it an anthology which did the film no favours at all and just gave them an excuse why there is no character development or movie depth.
