Gameplay(one big exception) and graphics are very solid and it truly feels like the end of the world. The dying light zombies have always been a bit different with the day and night cycle and that continues here. Plus a way bigger map for you to explore. But there are some issues here that hold this back from being a truly great game. Story and the controls when traversing up and around things. What happens to the simple but extremely fun parkour system? Getting around, jumping and running was the best part of the first game and here it literally feels like I'm learning how to walk again. Way to complicated and there are parts of the game that I almost quit entirely due to how bad the mechanics worked. The story is a barebones story of a zombie apocalypse that you have seen before. Guy from a lab looks for his sister across a destroyed world. Boring villains, boring factions, terrible characters who you wish you had the option to kill. The reason I still enjoyed the game was because of the atmosphere, killing zombies, and once you learn how to get around it can be fun. Overall somewhat disappointing game but I did have some fun with it. Just brace yourself for frustration when first learning the controls, and don't expect TLOU story telling.
Trash, ruined by directors. Made dl2, then were reworking it and deleting content for the last 2 years. A lot of things removed, downgraded or deleted again.
From what I have played so far I am highly enjoying, I loved the first dying light so have been waiting for this sequel for what seems like forever, unfortunately there are a few issues and I'm finding some of the controls especially combat rather difficult, hopefully once a few more updates have been applied the issues will be resolved.
Long awaited sequel to an amazing game. Definitely feels different compared to the other but if you play it like the RPG it wants you to play it as it's a great time. As for the review crying about there only being white males. What about the all the female characters you meet in the first 15 mins? Or throughout the world? Or are you angry it's not a strong minority only game? Never the less...great game.
This game is captivating. It is captivating on every single aspect, from the beautiful and harsh land scapes of the city to the cruelty and gore of the darkest places in the darkness. This game is not perfect but in some ways I actually prefer it to the first game. The first game is great, Crane is a legend, but this has some surprising power to it.
First of all, I love the voice acting, it is SO amazing and in some ways way more convincing that in DL1. Second of all, I know it's a stretch to get the trees and plants to grow on top of a buildings, but I love it. It gives such a organic feeling to the game amd makes it more enjoyable than the first game. Sometimes I just glide down to watch the scenery. The paraglider is a great add.
Third of all, the music is VERY recognizable and I enjoy it.
What makes this a 8/10 game and not more, is the plot. Finding Mia is not a convincing motivation for Aiden to do stuff. I wish he was fleshed out more. Lawan and Hakon are a great add and I enjoy connecting with both of them, but Mia stays as a distant character that I have no reason to go after.
Overall this game is a great experience. Now on my second play through and nearly 300 hours behind, the story keeps on going.

- TriviaIn Dying Light 2 we will see different steps of zombie evolution.
- GoofsSome things such as rice cannot survive 20 years and would not be viable by then.
- Alternate versionsThe German version is censored to avoid being banned in Germany like the first game. Two notable changes include the inability to kill neutral NPCs and decapitations & dismemberment on human enemies are no longer possible. Also its multiplayer is locked to just Germany players only and cannot play with players outside Germany. German version from Austria and Switzerland is completely uncensored.
