    Lived up to the hype!

Loved this movie. Plenty of gore (although I honestly expected more), some head games, some wtf? moments and a lot of laughs. For being an extremely low budget movie, the acting was good, scene shots and effects were pretty decent, and of course the story line is great (can't go wrong with a Matt Shaw story). The best part of Next Door however, was how it takes 10 completely different stories and slowly weaves them into one complete, tied in film. I'll end up watching this again at some point.

    A fun mix

I think I preferred the heavier stories to the comedic ones but as a whole it was nice to have those lighter moments, especially after the one about the dead girl. I hope they make a sequel

Watched a screener and thoroughly enjoyed

Different to other films. Its lots of short films although some of them link to each other. I thought it was cleverly done although one part was just too gross for me.

    Some original gory fun

I heard about the film via facebook and I rented it for 2 days not knowing really what to expect. I found it to be a breath of fresh air. It's not like anything I'd really watched before It's not going to be for everyone but I thought the story was original. It mixed horror and comedy with some serious themes. I especially liked the interludes between stories which cracked me up. I look forward to seeing more films like this.

    Original, gory, funny

Happy I gave this a punt. I have read Matt Shaw's work for a number of years now and recognised some of the stories being told here. The film works well and is tied up nicely at the end. There are a few issues here and there but nothing that stopped me from having a wild ride when I watched it.

    I would recommend this film.

    • Trivia
Each house on the street tells and new story with a central storyline linking the stories together. Some of the characters living on this fictional street - and put into original tales - are pulled directly from some of Matt Shaw's short stories, novels and novellas. So fans of Shaw's work keep your eyes peeled... You may just see some characters you recognise.

    • Crazy credits
During the filming process, Matt Shaw thought of some 60 second shorts with a twist. Instead of playing outtakes in the credits, as is the case with some films, Matt decided to include these 60 second shorts as a little bonus for the audience.
