I was hyped for this game to come, and when I got the game, I was very impressed from majority of the problems that I had with SC6. The roster is very good and they even had more guest characters showing up in the game and have many fan favorite characters returning when SC5 has gotten criticized by having many absences on characters and replacing them with new characters that shared the same moves. The story may not be very strong to a SC6, but it was at least well told, and they seem to try to alternate everything that happened in the original timeline of the SC series if you play on Zasalamel, Tira, and Cassandra's story episodes.
Soulcalibur VI makes a triumphant return to its former glory, after Soulcalibur V nearly destroyed the franchise. Some characters that were absent from the fifth game make a great return, and many more dlc characters to come in the future. The fighting gameplay is great, content is pretty good, the story has great characters and voice acting but the presentation is a little lacking with no cutscenes just still images. Now if you've never played a Soulcalibur game that's ok you can start with this one no worries.

I love this game. I think it's better and more fun than Mortal Kombat 11. Really fun gameplay, and awesome characters. My favorite character is Seong Mi-na. Oh, and of course 2B from NieR: Automata. Awesome game and now it's my favorite fighting game. 10/10.
Soul Calibur has learned nothing since 5 was released. It is the same tire game play with the same cheap cheating AI that makes casual play impossible. The 2 story modes are filled with overpowered nameless grunts that fight like the game is set for the hardest setting. There is no diffaculty control for the story mode and the story mode is the only way to make a significant amount of coins for unlocking costumes.
I play video games to relax, but the story mode made me want to throw my controller through the TV. It would have been one thing if the story was interesting, but it is the same tired SC story that they've been doing for years. Save your money.
