Cooking on High is a new Netflix show is about two chefs preparing the best dish with marijuana in it. Here are the reasons why this is the worst cooking show I have ever seen, based solely on the first episode:
Cringe. Cringe everywhere in this show.
The people judging the food have no cooking experience! One of them is a rapper that says that he cooks by making cereal and has never eaten fish before! Why do I care what these people think about food?
Remember the part where the contestants run into the pantry to grab food for their dishes? Nope, here they have all the pre-portioned ingredients already assembled in front of them. Boring.
The kitchen is hilariously small, and the judges just talk about what they're doing right in front of them. No private commentary.
15 minutes is really not a lot of time to get much cooking done. Also missing: the countdown clock and the sense of urgency.
Anyone who has ever cooked with weed knows that a key part is making the canna-butter or cannabis oil as potent as possible without burning out the THC. There are different techniques and recipes, and here they could have shown what the chefs like to do: cooking temp, time, type of weed, amount. Instead, both chefs are given the same type of weed and ostensibly the exact same canna-butter. Literally the main part of the show that sets it apart, and it is given little attention except for a lame bit about the specific strain of weed being used.
Both of the judges are clearly stoned before tasting the dishes. How are they supposed to tell how potent the food is? They do take a break at some point to let the weed digest, but since both chefs are using the same canna-butter, there is no way to tell them apart.
God, I hate everyone on this show besides the chefs, who seem nice enough.

Literally took the concepts of Bong Appétit and Chopped and decided to combine the two. No one asked for this and it in no way is original content. Thumbs down. Just go to VICELAND for quality cannabis content!
This show is okay. Had some wax, sat back and expected to love this show! I did learn some helpful tips for cooking and am going to try and infuse some vodka. Other than that, ordering my Cinnabon in the middle of watching was more exciting haha! Gave it 4 stars because I do think they had some great ideas and I'm excited about trying some. As far as fun cooking shows to watch while "partaking" Nailed It is WAY better. I laugh my a** off at that show!!
Save your time and avoid this at anytime. this is for the dumb!
dont say I didnt warn you afterwards.
