Mess in mind is the enemy here.

Lead character is a politician, who is never seen to have an organized thought process. To add to his problems, he considers his crush on leading lady to his love of the life and marries her. Now both are drunk all the time and somehow Maëva is dead. The moronic politician never gets a clue to what is happening around him. Even his fellow prisoners understand life better than him and those conversations are the only watchable thing in this movie. The director explains his rationale in a scene where politician's son tells him his problem but by that time you are so fed up with your decision of watching this movie that you are not interested in listening to him as well. Needless to say, you are going to curse director for wasting your time and the actors' talent. Worst was Maëva who had no dialogues and is used for nudity only.

    Extremely boring

Extremely bad from whatever point of view .

A political with high skills but when it comes to defend himself , he collapse.... Generally boring acting and story , you can easily sleep if you are tired ... And what about the end ??? AGAIN the viewer could decide , is he or not ???

    Pity myself wasting my time....

Great Acting and engaging story line

Although this movie was not yet released in the Netherlands and Belgium for general release ( it will be in 2022 ) I saw this movie on a French Movie Festival Tapis Rouge 2021 and was impressed by the intense portrayal of the characters by the actors and overall the artistic stylised depiction of the story. The movie location Thermae Palace Hotel Ostend ( Belgium ) was also used in Daughters of Darkness (1971), another famous Belgian movie with an international cult following, which I also happened to see in a 4K restoration in the movie theater this year ( 2021 ). I would recommend this movie to anyone interested in a suspenseful story ( based on a true story ) and some beautiful movie shots. Especially I liked the beach scenes and the wide night shot of the Thermae Palace Hotel Ostend.

    A strange film

I watched it only because of the presence of Jeremie Renier, only for him, because this topic did not excits me at all. But after a short while, I felt grabbed by this movie, xanks to Jeremie Renier's presence. Strange but worth, not a masterpiece but interesting to discover. Good directing for this social drama. I think it is a bit too complex to attract the audiences. From time to time, I feel the Hitchcock's influence; you wonder who the killer is, the husband or not? To summarize, this feature is a mixed of suspense and social drama. Supposed to be inspired by actual events. Some good scenes, such as this one in the police van, with the female convict. Intriguing ending, and excellent too.

    provocative. in some measure

Not small virtues, from exploration of politic circle to the pretty game of ambiguity, from Jeremie Renier admirable acting to the inspired portrait of Pablo proposed by Felix Maritaud.

In essence, film of a scene- the hands of Louis Durieux in the hands of woman in van- and film of a character - the eccentric pills giver of Sam Louwyck. Difficult to say too much about this film , except, in some measure, provocative, because , for a fist of motives, it represents a sort of interogation of viewer.

For me, just a good job, proposing questions and doubts, reminding film noir recipe and not bad acting.
