Apos: Cj Enm Inks K-Drama Distribution Deals With Mexico’s Top Broadcasters (Exclusive)
Image
Korean entertainment powerhouse Cj Enm has deepened its reach in Latin America with a trio of K‑drama distribution deals across Mexico’s top TV networks. By placing a raft of Korean titles with Imagen Televisión, Televisa Univision and TV Azteca — all airing in prime-time K‑drama slots — the partnerships underscore the surging global appeal of commercial Korean storytelling that Cj Enm has championed for more than a decade. Latin America, in particular, continues to expand its position as one of the most enthusiastic markets for K-dramas outside of Asia.

“The deals with Imagen Televisión, Televisa Univision, and TV Azteca exactly define what Cj Enm is aiming for in terms of global expansion — making K‑content become a part of mainstream cultures,” said Sebastian Kim, vp Cj Enm’s International Content Business Department. He added that these are just the first of several planned moves in the region.

Korean Dramas Secure Prime-Time Foothold in Mexico Through Cj Enm, Imagen Televisión Partnership (Exclusive)
Image
Korean entertainment powerhouse Cj Enm has secured an unprecedented access prime-time slot for Korean dramas on Mexico’s Imagen Televisión.

The strategic partnership will deliver a dedicated K-drama programming block that will air weekdays during primetime hours for a minimum eight-month commitment.

This arrangement represents the first time a Korean drama slot has been established in Mexico’s competitive television landscape, with all featured content coming exclusively from Cj Enm’s premium catalog. Mexican viewers will gain access to a diverse slate of hit series including “Familiar Wife,” “Oh My Baby,” “Mr. Queen,” “Emergency Couple,” “Another Miss Oh,” and “Yumi’s Cells.”

“The Hallyu wave in Mexico, in its full cultural scope, is a phenomenon we simply couldn’t overlook,” said Erick Pulido, content and programming director at Imagen Televisión. “We identified a strong demand for K-dramas that had yet to be consistently addressed – until now. And there’s no better...

Netflix Is Adding Over 100 New Movies/TV Shows This Week
Image
The theatrical industry is still struggling to return to normal, and matters aren’t helped as the studios continue to pull major releases from the calendar and send them to next year. There might not be a lot of content available on the big screen, but luckily the streaming wars remain in full swing, and as the market leaders, Netflix are constantly updating their library to retain their position at the front of the pack.

Enola Holmes has become the latest of the platform’s originals to dominate the conversation, but the usual array of forgotten titles have also been posting a strong showing as subscribers occupy their downtime with a variety of movies and TV shows, not all of which need to be the subject of critical acclaim or even good reviews.

Some non-horror originals of note this month include high school drama Grand Army (Oct. 16) and the Anya-Taylor Joy-starring chess story The Queen’s Gambit (Oct. 26). Aaron Sorkin’s latest film, The Trial of the Chicago 7, arrives on Oct. 16.
