Could have been a hit, but has missed the mark

Double Dare was my favorite series and this remake has not done it justice.

I love Liza and she is an okay host, but is lacking the excitement and humor Marc was able to bring to the show. The trivia questions are too easy. I recently watched the original Double Dare again just to compare, and it was indeed more challenging and based on more areas of general knowledge questions. The series is also missing its wacky camera angles of the obstacle course at the end, and preview of prizes to be won. The kids only win huge amounts of cash and no prizes as the original, which makes it less exciting in my opinion.

On the plus, the set has been made up really amazingly and has a similar feel to the original. They also kept the original music, and reused some of the original obstacles.

    Confusing dynamic

So Marc Summers, the original host of the show is there.. but I don't understand what his role is.

I've seen him step in on the spot when the other host had voice issues, and he was incredible. After all he hosted double dare and family double dare before this.

Marc summers looks extraordinary good for his age in my opinion. He could host this show for another 20 years. I mean he's already there on set, I legitimately don't understand the hosting dynamic, it's weird.

I don't have any qualms with the lady hosting the show, but it just doesn't make any sense.

I'm probably missing something, I must be. Right?

Can anyone tell me why Marc Summers isn't THE host of this show?

This show is *exactly* why sometimes making remakes is a bad idea...way to go

This is hilarious: you tried to bring back double dare, but the new host isn't even all that good. She in fact makes me cringe real bad just by viewing the commercials. Even just watching her host the show gives me a headache. Just as the reviewer TruthHurtsGood said: it's loud, boring, and double the lamness. Know why the original host is even on this show? *He's a marketing tool being used basically*. Remember Crashletes? He's just there to make past viewers who watched the original Double Dare feel good to see him again. But this is just horrible...stop the nonsense already. I also noticed just like someone here some hints of feminism from this "host" and it's tiresome seeing it.

Don't watch this show, don't waste your time like others/myself who are sensible here did to inform you about this show. My younger sisters can't even stand the show, you're better off looking at Jeopardy instead of this terrible remake.

Remove the host and you may have something

How can they bring back our beloved double dare and not use the same host..basically put him on the sidelines and force him to watch this annoying talentless hack butcher the entire show. Why the nostalgia but with all the modern day bs pushed into it? Horrible host, tries too hard.."the og of dd"? Stop with the ghetto bs cmon already..leave our childhood alone and stop remaking shows movies and butchering them. 3 out of 10 because mark is in it..I watched 5 episodes in a row, deleted the rest..horrible idea with this young youtube "star" #stopmakingstupidpeoplefamous

Fun for the family and a nice visit down memory lane

I was an avid fan of the show back in the day. Excited to have a fun modern resurgence of this fun Nickelodeon Dynasty! While there are some differences, the core fun and wacky antic are still present.

It's also a joy to see our fateful captain now sitting in the emcee seat along with the charismatic Liza running the entertaining chaos.

Thank you Nickelodeon for giving me the chance to share this part of my childhood with my own kids.
