On a fictional cinema level, made on a dollar and a half, then join me in this torturous bubble bath of masochistical juvenileism that will make you feel punched and pommeled with every second minute, that gives a view of a life of an american kid living in the desolate rural scrapyards ,where the wilderness is so deep that neither police nor child services can find their way.
Im grumpy and im old, and i know what it is like to live with chronic angst most of my adult life, i cannot even imagine how a life among addicts, murderers and really ill family connections must feel like, so thank god its just fiction , but im afraid its durable and realistic anyhow.
Acclamations to the makers of this depressing child hood experiences, well told, well filmed, just not so good audio quality at times, but the story and the acts of audrey grace marshall asphycsiate all those errors.its a film that may give some clues of how some children sees and imagines how life shall be, a kid at that age is not equipped with the ability to sort out right from wrong nor good from bad.
Im lost for words, its a slow torture kind of movie if you let yourself into its quagmire, i did, and i do recommend.

I saw this movie at Whistler International Film Festival Dec 2020. Audrey Grace Marshall, who plays the young girl Emma, is perfectly cast, and does a brilliant job of the dual challenges of being witness to horrors, and maintaining the innocence of childhood. The script is really good, the story heartbreaking and somehow inspiring. Bad guys are sometimes good guys, and there are no real good guys at all. Highly recommend.
A beautiful, powerful, bleak, harrowing, hopeful, nuanced film. An incredible portrayal of childhood at the fringes of American society. Crafted with a sharp eye to imagery and how it reflects the inner life of the characters.
Wonderful and understated performances throughout, especially by Audrey Grace Marshall.
The film created a sense of displacement in time that mimicked the experience of being a child so beautifully. Time seems to move around this girl in a dark and often harrowing way, while she stays innocent and hopeful in the midst of it.
A wonderfully made film that will stay with me.

Just too involved when watching and how could the life of a little girl be like this. For a movie perspective, it's a good product but it's a torture when watch this.
A fantastic indie drama about a young girl who moves in with her junkie mother after her grandfather dies. Things go from bad to worse for our hero as she attempts to survive amidst a LOT of obstacles. Brilliantly written and directed by Niav Conty, but would be difficult to pull off without an amazing performance by the young Audrey Grace Marshall. The supporting cast of Dominique Johnson, Holter Graham and Kevin Lorene give wonderfully moving and deep performances without ever going over the top.
A great, tight script and a compelling story. It is at times brutal and triggering, but I was on board for the entire journey.
