This movie is dreadful. The characters are all loathsome and their reactions to what happened are ridiculous. At least the filmmakers didn't spend any money on this. I was rooting for the radiation and was stunned that an hour and 18 minutes could go by so slowly. Watch Patterns, Testament or On the Beach instead.
It wasn't a comic book movie and it didn't have CGI.....so, could have been worse.
The movie could have potentially been a 5 star movie for me. It, to me felt very much low budget. The actors were terrible. The ex wife did nothing but complain about the ex husband, dead air moments when you could hear them chewing, swallowing, etc......... drove me so crazy I couldn't watch and or enjoy much of it at all because I didn't want to listen to the dead spots, where you literally could hear someone's stomach sounds, breathing, swallowing, and most painful was listening to ex-wife complain through the whole thing about her husband, when potentially the world was about to end and yet, SHE WAS KINDER TO A STRANGER THAT BROKE INTO THE HOME...... HORRIBLEE. Hollywood, could've made this movie a real blockbuster because of the storyline. Way too much vomiting, swallowing, breathing, stomaches gurgling, etc.....and the dead air spots were worse.........I very rarely watch low budget movies, while I've seen worse, this one didn't impress me at all.
The movie was good enough to keep you watching until the end. I think I only kept watching just to see if it would get better. By the time the movie ended I had more questions than answers. Not the worst movie that I have even seen though.
Wow, this is a timely movie. Wrapping a romance plot around a nuclear strike. Sounds crazy but I think it works. And works well. Ben Hall does a nice job as Director telling the story. Acting is pretty good. It is worth a watch. And yes, it has some twists so keep watching. I recommend.
