The news report of the American flyover talked of a flight by 3 F-16 aircraft which then returned to the carrier USS Bartlett. The F-16 is a US Air Force fighter and is not designed or equipped for operation from a US Navy carrier. The US Navy flies F-18 Hornets as their primary strike aircraft.
