Ok, so, first of all I have to specify that my mother tongue is Italian, so I had the pleasure to watch the TV serie in Italian.
I don't want to complain about the acting: more experienced actresses made the lines and the overall plot work, even if they were quite surreal. But I really didn't like the plot flow, the characters study was so poor that I simply couldn't believe what was going on there. I couldn't emphasize with both the main characters because, in my perspective, they were really acting randomly.
And I'm really sad about this, I really wanted to enjoy it, above all because there aren't a lot of Italian fantasy TV series.
Do any of the writers actually know how to tell a story and keep it consistent? This had such promise, but it is all over the place and back and forth and back again. Whaaaat?
I can't even figure out what to point out.
Beautiful costumes, great settings... but it feels like there was no real consistencies, nothing made sense. Perhaps they were trying to work on surprising people, which, it was surpising at times, but so hodge podge it made it ridiculous.
No idea what problems some reviewers have with consistency, acting and plot. This was amazing. Strong characters, emotional, developing story, witchcraft, feminism and medieval ideas all well established throughout.
I felt the pain and anguish of the lead character and had a powerful response to the injustices of the past.
Amazing.

Amazing.
The show is a crescendo.
The first episodes may not fully convince, but above all the last two are well made and have excellent cliffhangers.
I'm sure that non-Italian-speaking viewers will appreciate it much more.
This has a lot of promise still and I hope to see it grow further. The pace and focus of the story could use help sometimes. It didn't pick up proper and consistent until the last episode.
