Based on the novel of the same name, “Long Bright River” features Amanda Seyfried in an all-new on-screen uniform for the Emmy-winning actress.

Seyfried stars as Mickey Fitzpatrick, a Philly beat cop dedicated to solving the mysterious murders targeting young women on the Avenue, many of whom struggle with addiction and turn to sex work to survive. While other men on the force are quick to categorize them as overdoses, Mickey sees something they do not.

The eight-episode limited series attempts to solve both a murder mystery and a family one. As Mickey pieces together evidence to solve the murder mystery, she unveils memories from her own past.

A24 and Kyle Mooney‘s dial-up disaster comedy Y2K wants you to party like it’s 1999 next month when it heads to streaming.

The world hasn't been kind to Chucky fans lately. The main reason being because Syfy cancelled the killer doll’s beloved TV series after three seasons late last year. The show was left on a cliffhanger and, despite a new movie being in the works from franchise creator Don Mancini, the next Chucky project seems to be at least a couple of years away. However, the one thing that hasn't stopped during this lull has been the blood-soaked merchandise. This has included apparel collections, Funko Pops and action figures. With just over a month to go before “The Last of Us” Season 2 premieres on Max, and Variety reports today that six actors have joined the supporting cast of the upcoming season.

“The Last of Us” Season 2 premieres on Max on April 13, 2025.

Joe Pantoliano, Alanna Ubach, Ben Ahlers (“Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”), Hettienne Park (“Hannibal”), Robert John Burke and Noah Lamanna (“Star Trek: Strange New Worlds”) are set to appear in the second season.

Pantoliano will play Eugene, a minor character from video game The Last of Us Part II that’s being expanded for the series, which is an understatement in that Eugene is never glimpsed beyond a photograph in the game. “I get excited when I see these opportunities,” said Neil Druckmann, who is also the creative director of Part II. “I’m like, ‘Oh, I don’t know Eugene that well!’ The story we told [in the game] was somewhat superficial.

TikTok is planning for its live shopping infrastructure to deliver astonishing sales figures in the years to come, but a few ambitious platforms may have something to say about that. As the ecommerce market continues to heat up, a court filing revealed that TikTok Live is projected to haul in $77 billion in annual sales by 2027.

TikTok estimated its future Live sales volume in a court document that pertains to an ongoing legal battle against the U.S. government. Federal prosecutors have worked with a group of state attorneys general to file a lawsuit against the ByteDance-owned app, alleging that its addictive structure and questionable content leads to mental and physical harms for underage users. With horror being more popular than it has ever been as new franchise releases from modern gems like The Conjuring scare up theaters, merchandise has been giving the genre a second life outside of film. Whether it be action figures, apparel collections or Funko Pops, these movie demons and killers have transcended pop culture. That being said, with Halloween, one of the things on the rise is haunting animatronic decorations. Now, as we count down the months till the spooky season, The Conjuring and Chucky franchises are getting new scream-worthy animatronics.

Neca brought everyone’s favorite killer doll to Toy Fair 2025 this past weekend, previewing an upcoming wave of blind box Chucky toys based on the cancelled “Chucky” TV series.

Our friends over at ToyArk.com bring us these photos from the convention floor, which give us our first look at six different Chucky figures that will be part of the blind box wave.

Apple TV+’s “Cape Fear“ series adaptation has just added another familiar face to its cast. Variety reports that The Conjuring and Insidious franchise stalwart Patrick Wilson has joined the series.

The 10-episode series hails from “Channel Zero“ creator Nick Antosca, who serves as showrunner, writer, and executive producer.

The official logline reads, “A storm is coming for happily married attorneys Anna and Tom Bowden when Max Cady, a notorious killer from their past, gets out of prison.“ Apple describes their series as “a tense, contemporary thriller that examines America’s obsession with true crime in the 21st century. Based on the New York Times bestseller by Liz Moore published in 2020, the limited series “Long Bright River” follows Mickey (Seyfried), a police officer patrolling an area of Philadelphia that was particularly hit by the opioid crisis. After three girls are found dead, Mickey is forced to grapple with her past as she searches for answers.

Academy Award nominee Amy Adams has signed on to star opposite Javier Bardem in Apple TV+’s “Cape Fear.”

“Channel Zero” creator Nick Antosca will serve as showrunner, writer, and executive producer for the 10-episode series.

Both actors will also executive produce alongside Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg.

The series is based on both John D. MacDonald‘s 1957 novel The Executioners, which was adapted into 1962’s Cape Fear starring Gregory Peck, and Scorsese’s 1991 remake with Robert De Niro.

The official logline reads, “A storm is coming for happily married attorneys Anna (Adams) and Tom Bowden when Max Cady (Bardem), a notorious killer from their past, gets out of prison.”

Antosca previously created “Channel Zero,” “The Act,” “Candy,” and “Brand New Cherry Flavor,” in addition to working on “Hannibal,” “Chucky,” and “Teen Wolf.”

UCP, where Antosca and his Eat the Cat banner are under an overall deal, will produce “Cape Fear.

This month, the Halloweenies continue their sprawling Universal Monsters coverage with 1941’s The Wolf Man. Devon Sawa became a huge part of the Child’s Play franchise thanks to his multiple roles in the TV series, Chucky.. While he may have been more famous for avoiding Death’s grasp in Final Destination, he was not so lucky when coming up against Chucky’s bloodlust, which led to his characters meeting some gory ends. While the series came to an end after three seasons, the actor’s most recent comments on the show have come with an unexpected positive outlook for Chucky’s chances of another resurrection.

Let’s state facts, like many horror franchises, Chucky has been dead and buried several times, but somehow, he always comes back no matter what befalls the franchise. In the 1990s, Child’s Play 3 became the subject of a “Video Nasty” ban in the U.K. when it was cited as the inspiration behind the murder of a young toddler by two other children.

Devon Sawa, the '90s teenage heartthrob who starred in the 2000 film Final Destination,provides an update on his potential return in the upcoming franchise sequel,Final Destination: Bloodlines. After duking it out with death, there’s not much further up the horror chain that you can climb, but Devon Sawa has done that and then some. Sawa appeared in the iconic 2000 film, Final Destination, which kicked-off a franchise that continues to go strong with the upcoming release of Final Destination: Bloodlines. Before that, he entered the horror-comedy arena through the 1999 film, Idle Hands, which is set to undergo a reboot in the near future. More recently, the actor has appeared in multiple parts in Don Mancini’s small-screen Child’s Play takeover, the gone-too-soon Chucky. And, on February 7, he’ll step into what could easily blossom into a new horror franchise via Josh Ruben’s Heart Eyes.

I dug Heart Eyes! A fun, fast-paced mash-up of the romantic comedy genre and slasher flicks, it should do nicely at the box office this weekend. It certainly doesn’t hurt that the surprisingly gory R-rated flick stars rising horror icon Mason Gooding in one of the leading roles and has a witty screenplay by Happy Death Day’s Christopher Landon. We gave it a solid review, and folks should enjoy it when it opens this Friday.

For years, Antony Starr has drawn high praise for his chilling performance as Homelander in the hit superhero satire TV series The Boys. Now, he's managed to beat some stiff competition to earn a major acting award win for his work in the role.

On Feb. 2, the 52nd annual Saturn Awards ceremony was held in Los Angeles. At the event, Starr won the award for Best Supporting Actor in a Television Series. It's a significant win for Starr, as the award isn't limited to superhero-specific projects. I can't imagine anyone firing up their video-watching machine of choice this month and being disappointed in the new selections on Netflix this month. The latest casting news for Scream 7 may be the most surprising addition of them all. It's been revealed that another franchise star is returning for the new film, even though his character was killed off in the franchise 26 years ago.

Per Deadline, actor Scott Foley (The Girls on the Bus) has joined the cast of Scream 7. No details have yet been revealed about his character and how he will play into the plot, but it's certainly worth noting that Foley previously appeared in a major role in 2000's Scream 3. In that film, Foley played filmmaker Roman Bridger, a half-brother of Neve Campbell's Sidney Prescott who was revealed in the end to be the Ghostface killer.

In 2025, the Halloweenies are celebrating the storied legacy of the Universal Monsters. On Feb. 7, the new slasher movie Heart Eyes will make its debut in movie theaters. How well received the film will be remains to be seen, but Devon Sawa thinks the movie's titular killer could become just as iconic as other slasher film icons like Jason Voorhees and Freddy Krueger.

Heart Eyes tells the story of two co-workers on Valentine's Day who are mistaken for a couple, making them a target of a mysterious murderer. Mostly donning all-black clothing, the killer becomes very recognizable by wearing a mask that has glowing red hearts for eyes. Sawa is one of the stars of the movie, marking his latest horror role after his appearances in Final Destination, Idle Hands, and Chucky. While speaking with Screen Rant about the film, Sawa said that the Heart Eyes killer is "unique" enough to stand out in the genre, potentially becoming a new horror icon.

Don Mancini’s Cult of Chucky, which brought Chucky into a mental institution back in 2017, is headed to Netflix on February 1, the streaming service has announced this morning.

The seventh installment of the Child’s Play/Chucky franchise introduced the idea of multiple killer Chucky dolls and also firmly integrated original Child’s Play franchise characters Andy and Kyle back into the mix, the film also starring Fiona Dourif and Jennifer Tilly. The events of Cult of Chucky set the stage for the “Chucky” television series, which was cancelled just last year.

James Gunn may have gone to the other side and taken over DC Studios, but his stint in blockbuster filmmaking began with Marvel. The director made the runaway hit Guardians of the Galaxy, which firmly established Gunn as a filmmaker with a unique vision, great ability to handle a lesser-known IP, and a killer taste in music.

After multiple run-ins with Ghostface, Scream franchise star Mason Gooding is next trying to survive in a new slasher film. As is pretty evident from the title, however, this movie will be introducing a new horror movie killer unlike any ever seen before.

Per USA Today, a new look has been revealed for the upcoming horror movie Heart Eyes. The new photo reveals a fresh peek at the movie's titular killer, bearing the red hearts in place of eyes that illuminate the shadowy person's face. A lit carousel can be seen in the background. Despite the colorful red hearts, the killer looks to be very dangerous, bearing a large knife. The photo can be seen below.

The cast of Max’s medical drama “The Pitt” is clocking in for their shift.

The series, which explores the everyday challenges healthcare workers face in a Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania emergency room, was produced by John Wells. R.
