Summary
Reviewers say 'Annabelle Comes Home' offers entertaining scares and strong performances, particularly from McKenna Grace, Madison Iseman, and Katie Sarife. The film is lauded for its Gothic atmosphere and stylish photography. However, criticisms arise for its reliance on clichés, weak storyline, and predictable scares. The limited screen time for Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga is disappointing, and some feel it falls short of earlier Conjuring Universe films.

I'm a fan of The Conjuring and the other Annabelle movies but this one was disappointing. The acting was fine but the story a as weak and the ending was horrible. At least they kept the time period feeling. I expected more from this series.
I was disappointed with Annabelle Comes Home because they had an immense list of material to use and they didn't. There were too many ideas and they all clashed and the story didn't make sense at times. The "comedy" scenes felt awkward and forced, just like The Nun, and overall came across like it was supposed to be a teen suspense film rather than a horror film. It kept me at the edge off my seat a bit but never went beyond that. Annabelle Creation and the first Conjuring are still the best films out of this whole franchise.
What is this? I can't believe, how can this be so bad? The first two movies are great. But, in this movie, everything seems like messed up a bit. Story isn't compelling either. Scare jumps which I usually look for are also missing. I felt quite bore and wanted to dropped it.
The story is mostly mix for me on how some parts work and some don't. The movie does a better job on building up the atmosphere than the La Llorona movie I review. It does a great job on building up tension towards the creepiness factor and there's a couple of creepy scenes in the movie. Also I found the backstory of the spirits to be pretty interesting and creepy. And I found the ending to be really emotional.
Unfortunately I found the way the spirits are unleashed to be really stupid and predictable. The minor side plot about Bob is unnecessary and uninteresting. And some of the jump scares aren't that effective and really obvious.

Don't bother watching this movie. It's one of those standard production, boring and predictable movie.
