Cryptid

"Cryptid" get's the horror thriller formula right in a very accessible and watchable series, from Sweden.

This ten part series is well paced. It gets your attention with some pretty gruesome and spectacular horror from the outset and then tones things down, gradually revealing layers of horror and mystery, as it moves towards its watery climax.

Perhaps the only criticism I can find, is I did feel the climax could have offered a little more. That said, its made clear, that this is supposed to be a first season, with more to follow.

Beyond this smallish point this is a quality series. Acting is convincing, with excellent chemistry between the key protagonists, the mythology based premise is sound and horror/thriller elements come together satisfyingly.

Here's hoping for a second season.

I have no idea why this has such high reviews. I'm Swedish and this was atrocious to watch, the story, the characters, the dialouge, the choices the characters make are just mind boggling at best. This is not the actors fault of course but I feel bad for them that they had to act through this script.

I dont know why they chose to write such dislikable characters, it was fun to watch with someone else though but it was unfortunately not in a good sense. None of the characters you were hoping would die did and you get stuck with all the worst ones for a lot of the show. Could've been good but unfortunately not. If you want to roast a show as you watch and not have to focus on it, give it a go.

Acting was not that good, the story felt really far fetched, almost like a student project. Strange costumes and a really big monster that never is to be really seen, if you are into cryptids then skip this one. Cool thing was the synthwave background music. I can't imagine people giving this more than a 5* rating, must be cast or production members!

For me, the first season of the series was a fire show and I ready for the second season of the series The writer knew how to write an amazing story and the characters is unbelievable in acting as if I am in reality and the music is a second fictional thing give you a nice feeling Thanks for all the effort.

Low budget good show from out of hollywood. I dont understand how people say bad things about this show Couse Hollywood story tellers was dead..no have interesting story more.. Must be open mind for new ones!
