Cryptid takes place in Odensfors, a seemingly uneventful small town on the northern hemisphere. Everything changes when a student at the local high school suddenly dies in a strange and inexplicable way. This is also the catalyst for the problems in Niklas (Julius Fleischanderl) and Ester's (Maja-Johanna Englander) relationship.
Cryptid is Scandinavia's first ever young adult horror series in the short format and part of a new genre called 'Nordic Comic Noir'. It was nominated for Best Short Form Series at the Canneseries festival in 2020 and will premiere across Scandinavia October 30th on Viaplay. Tune in for the French release on 'SALTO' and German release on 'JOYN' in November.
