Undercover Chinese cop Xin (newcomer Gu Shangwei), is on a secret international mission when a surprise raid puts him in a remote Cambodian jungle prison that plays by its own rules. Ruthless warden (Vithaya Pansringarm) sells prisoners as human prey for rich hunters looking for thrills in the jungle.

After years of hunting down ruthless criminals, Xin suddenly finds himself running for his life. If Xin manages to survive this sadistic game, he'll walk out of the jungle the same way he came in: as a free man. If Xin fails, he's just another hunting trophy.

Good Solid Actioner

I thought this was a good, solid, tight action movie. I enjoyed it very much.

Good characters. Shot really well. Not overly long and fully of outdoor adventure, hand to hand combat as well as good gun play. Excellent hero and some pretty awesome villains. Hard Target/Most Dangerous Game-esque. Give it a look.

Failed to connect

I watched this movie with English subtitles. After seeing the trailer I was hoping it would be as touching as the 1994 movie "Surviving the Game" with Gary Busey in it, which I loved. The story was a little different but same sort of scenario in which people are hunted as sport for money.

I believe it could have worked with a much higher budget but would still generate a mild response from the majority of viewers. Several of the actors let it down, especially the main villain.

The ending was a bit of a let down and made me think of stirring spaghetti bolognese where I was trying to keep up with the focus of the story and who was dying. I guess reading subtitles takes away from appreciating it a bit too. Not being a real fan of martial arts I would have to say didn't help my rating.

I see this movie generating a more positive response from young viewers.

This has a pretty low-budget feel to it, but that isn't the problem. It just has no originality to the writing and no performances which raise it from bargain-bin level. Trust me and just give it a body-swerve.

Shoot him, if you can

Actually it is just kill him if you can I suppose ... but hey tried to go as close to the catch him if you can pun/joke. So hopefully that works - even if there is no connection to a famous Hanks and DiCaprio movie. The connection you can find here is more to something like Hard Target or Surviving the Game to name two other movies (who both are better in my view, but that's me).

Still this is a decent effort and if you don't mind the premise (as in this only being a movie and having some interesting action scenes containing quite a bit of violence) ... go ahead and make your day. Gunplay, hand to hand combat and much more ... enjoy it for what it is.
