Alien Sharks: Strange New Worlds takes viewers to the coast of South Africa in search of unique animals, including the sevengill shark, and features never-before-seen deep-sea videography and unlikely finds. Forrest Galante, a conservationist and adventurer, leads the show and is involved with Colossal Biosciences, a company focused on de-extinction. The show highlights underrepresented organisms like the pajama shark and the wedgefish, in addition to the sevengill. Galante shares his favorite moments from the show, including catching the elusive wedgefish and the affectionate behavior of the striped pajama sharks.

Discovery’s Shark Week is back with exciting new programming like Alien Sharks: Strange New Worlds. This new iteration of the Alien Sharks series takes viewers to the coast of South Africa in search of unique animals including the sevengill shark, a rare species of shark named for its distinguishing feature. The program also features never-before-seen deep-sea videography, unlikely finds, and more.

With its list of new releases for November 2021, Netflix will attempt to bravely step into a post-Squid Game world. Helping it in that mission is a diverse array of original series and films.

On the TV side of things, it’s a good month to be animated with both Big Mouth and F is for Family premiering their fifth seasons (on Nov. 5 and Nov. 25 respectively). It’s the live-action version of an animated classic, however, that might be Netflix’s crown jewel this month. Cowboy Bebop premieres on Nov. 19 and based on the first trailer, it will maintain the spirit of the beloved anime. And speaking of big hits, Tiger King 2 is set to arrive on Nov. 17.

Disney and Pixar have debuted the cutest teaser trailer for the upcoming animation ‘Turning Red’.

Young actress Rosalie Chiang lends her voice to Mei Lee, a 13-year-old who suddenly poofs into a giant red panda when she gets too excited (which is practically Always). Sandra Oh voices Mei Lee’s protective, if not slightly overbearing mother, Ming, who is never far from her daughter—an unfortunate reality for the teenager.

Decal Releasing has debuted a new trailer for the Jake Johnson led comedy ‘Ride The Eagle’.

When Leif’s (Jake Johnson) estranged mother Honey (Susan Sarandon) dies she leaves him a ‘conditional inheritance’. Before he can move into her picturesque Yosemite cabin, he has to complete her elaborate, and sometimes dubious, to-do list. Leif and Nora, his canine Bff, step into Honey’s wild world as she tries to make amends from beyond the grave.

Directed by Trent O’Donnell from a screenplay he co-wrote with Johnson, the film stars Johnson, Susan Sarandon, J.K. Simmons, D’Arcy Carden.

Sky Cinema has debuted a new trailer for the upcoming animation ‘Extinct’ featuring the voices of Rachel Bloom, Ken Jeong and Zazie Beetz.

Op and Ed are two adorable doughnut-shaped animals — Flummels — who accidentally time travel from 1835 to modern-day Shanghai. There, they discover traffic, trans fats, and worst of all, that flummels are now extinct. It’s up to this bumbling pair to save themselves, save their species… and just maybe change the course of history.

Meet the Flummels

Op (Rachel Bloom) is an always-upbeat, leap-before-you-look flummel. She is a dreamer and a do-er, and is the driving force behind her and her brother’s adventures and, frequently, their problems.

Ed (Adam Devine) is the brooding brakes on his sister’s antics. He desperately wants to fit in with the rest of the flummels in spite of being considered an oddball in their society. After all, can’t an oddball find love too?...

Huayi Brothers Co-Founder and Chairman Wang Zhongjun has resigned from his post as executive chairman of the board at Huayi Tencent Entertainment, the latter company announced Friday. He will step down next Tuesday because he “needs to focus on other matters,” it said.

Wang will be vacating his Huayi Tencent roles as executive director and chairman of the board, as well as his positions as both chairman and member of the company’s nomination and corporate governance committees. The company said there are “no disagreements” between Wang and the rest of its board of directors.

Yuen Hoi Po, Huayi Tencent’s CEO and executive director, will temporary assume Wang’s responsibilities. A new chairman will be elected “as soon as possible” to fill Wang’s role.

If there was any question about the original content ambitions of Comcast-backed pay-tv operator Sky under its new leadership, a 125-title film and TV slate for 2021 reflects a company poised to build a distinct, autonomous service that can compete with its deep-pocketed SVOD rivals.

Sky in late 2019 renewed its output deal with HBO — which allows the business to offer the U.S. cabler’s top shows on its Sky Atlantic channel — for “multiple years,” but the company is clearly planning for a future where WarnerMedia pulls the plug on international licensing in favor of its own platform, HBO Max, which is now getting its house in order in Latin America and Europe.

Exclusive: The CW has picked up an additional 13 episodes of fantasy-adventure series The Outpost ahead of the launch of its third season.

Series regular Anand Desai-Barochia, who plays Janzo in the series, has also been promoted to associate producer for the fourth season.

The third season of the show was set to air over the summer but production was halted in March due to the Covid-19 shutdown. In June, the drama became one of the first SAG-AFTRA-approved shows to restart production in Serbia.

The CW is not calling it a fourth season but rather an additional 13 episodes of season three.

The show, which also airs on NBCUniversal’s Syfy network internationally, stars Jessica Green (Ash vs. Evil Dead), Jake Stormoen (Extinct), Imogen Waterhouse (Nocturnal Animals) and Desai-Barochia.

Electric Entertainment and Arrowstorm Entertainment said Monday they’ll resume production in Serbia for the third season of the CW’s fantasy-adventure series The Outpost. Production was halted at the onset of the coronavirus outbreak in mid-March.

Restarting production is a hot topic Stateside as the industry, unions and state and local officials hash out protocols. Governor Gavin Newsom of California Friday announced guidelines to restart on June 12 if local conditions permit. Meanwhile, Serbia has been one of several countries that are particularly active in wooing productions overseas.

The announcement was made jointly by Dean Devlin, CEO of Electric Entertainment and Jason Faller and Kynan Griffin of Arrowstorm Entertainment.

It’s bittersweet to see the Rose family take their bows in the series finale of Schitt’s Creek, mostly because co-creator and showrunner Dan Levy ended the story on his own terms. As he told Variety, following their two-year renewal at the end of season 4, he started plotting out the ending: “I at no point wanted to compromise on quality or storytelling. Pop TV has made its first comedy greenlight this cycle, handing a pilot order to comedy Mother Mary. Described as a modern twist on one of the most famous stories ever told, the project hails from writers Casey Feigh (What We Do in the Shadows), Dan Gregor (How I Met Your Mother) and Betsy Sodaro (Disjointed). Sodaro developed the title character and stars alongside Rachel Bloom, who also executive produces; Jax Media and CBS Television Studios co produce. The project was announced Monday as part of the network’s presentation at the TCA winter press tour.
