Sometimes it is difficult to offer an objective opinion of a film, when the content fills you with rage - Roll Red Roll is one of those films. The film tries to offer information that is publicly available in a manner that wants to offer both sides of the subject, but then pulls back and decides 'We're Going To Shame All Residents Of Steubenville, Ohio'. In my opinion, Roll Red Roll did not go far enough in portraying Steubenville, Ohio as a dirty, filthy place full of dirty, filthy people. What the criminals in this film do not realize - They have been marked by Anonymous, and they will be marked for life.
Only in America!
And it takes a BBC documentary to showcase this dirty town.
I'm a fella , I was a young lad once and I was no angel but we never considered behaving like the filth on show in this. The boys on video made my skin crawl and if it had been my sister no sheriff or judge or justice or whatever would have passed sentence before myself and my mates.
It really is a case of money buying justice, the principle and coaching staff should be jailed for enabling.
What a craphole of country . Not even 3rd world

This is a very good documentary about a problem much more pervasive than most people realize. I know that in my midwestern hometown, the same thing could easily have happened when I was in high school decades ago--except then the girl almost certainly wouldn't have reported being assaulted, realizing that even if she did, the school, parents and police probably would have "hushed it up" to protect the all-important football team, and she would have most likely gotten "slut-shamed" besides.

Yeah, I guess some folk are still invested in covering up this incident, and revising the history that the documentary chronicles. Too little, too late, folks.

It was a good movie needed more details on things but I know that the director did not want to make it more painful for the victims. It's not fake it's all public record and we all watched it unfold on the news.
Its like the college comedies of the 80's and 90's, soccer are for sukkers, football are for the footballers. theyve always had the power to dominate their environment, and as to this case the rape that were commited and thank god the victim werent killed, shows just a 1 in a 1000 tip of the ice berg in these fraternities. let it be told , and use the social media to reveal the culprits you know about, and use the self pronounced crime bloggers for what they are and can, because they got the heart and guts to act and protect the way the officials cant. howcome american football need so extremely vast number of players on the teams? it seems to me that a football game are just a bunch of time outs, with coaches beheaded with some kida astronout headsets, im sure the have some spy sats hanging over the pits to view the game for them, to make the football stars even brighter.i think american football is a big joke, and its just away for the american public to soscialize in a well protected and fairly safe zone for a few hours. the rest is like having a romantic interlude until all of a sudden a swimmer chases away from the others and crosses the white line , and everybody relieve a screaming climax of joy for the swimmer who hit the golden egg .
this is a good documentary, though a bit biased on the prosecution side, but thats all right. it has its own drive and that is the key to a good documentary the perputrators got punished , but its a digrace of justice the small sentences given. 10000000 $ of fine shouldve been paid to the victim.....
so if you have problems with american sports and their god like excecuters then the grumpy old man recommends a look at this docu.
