    Utterly boring

Wasting 84 minutes of my life watching this defeatist and utterly boring documentary with uninteresting topics and even more uninteresting monologs describing the everyday life of the social underclass workers in South America.

A black and white film to delude the appearance of some deeper art concepts or symbolism, but in my opinion, the black and white sujet appears to be a desperate attempt to make this whole documentary look more pretentious and classy, while in fact the black and white is supposed to conceal and distract the recipient from any kind of dilettante filming techniques and small mistakes made by the creators of this documentary.

The positive ratings of this documentary are very eupheumestic, maybe they are fake...

    A Poetic Reflection

The Conquest of the Ruins (Eduardo Gómez, 2021) is a visually impressive and thoughtful documentary that explores the impact of the expansion of cities and their relationship with history and territory. Co-produced by Argentina, Bolivia and Spain, it follows the construction process of a building, from the extraction of stones in a quarry to its construction in the city, establishing a connection between the past and the future. With poetic photography and a narrative that expands to different perspectives, such as that of a paleontologist recovering fossils or an indigenous community displaced by urban development, the documentary draws a metaphor about colonization and the constant transformation of the landscape. Its impact has been recognized at international festivals, consolidating it as an audiovisual essay that challenges the viewer and invites them to question the superposition of conquests in Latin American history.
