Some skill in the tension-build-up around the main chr, but otherwise a badly realized waste of time.

Some novels get attempted by skilled planners and directors and realization advisers and whatnot, as well as having enough of a budget to attempt what in a novel worked to create a sense of outside-causation in developments in mental-illness or modern-paranoias, or to portray both fantasy and real-life espionage, white-collar crimes, etc,..

Others are mish-pish and don't use foresight to anticipate how you might-not get much of a sense of what in a novel is meant to be some external super-conspiracy type setting, but still attempt to do so using mystery, which can be less time-consuming.

However doing so is a risk when hoping that the sense of it is new to the audience, or that the audience will not be de-sensitised to it or similar movies / settings.

Back in reality, we are, and when that fails, movies like this fail disastrously. That's it, i can't be bothered describing this rubbish in-any-better a light.

    --------

On the part of people who make movies like this when-trippin, over-inflated self-conceptualization cannot be addressed by the self by further self-aggrandisation , and the absurd amount of cause&effect in the too-easy-a-target or conveniently-already potentially paranoid pot-smoker , hints at that. Like it or not, not everything that pot-smokers think is a result of oooo so intelligent suggestion and illusion on the part of thinking-themselves superior 'programmers', one meaning of the word now a term in terms of invasive marketing and various invasions of privacy.

In the modern world, there IS, a lot to be paranoid about, so sorry,.. it's not REALLY doing anything to a person that is already paranoid for GOOD REASON, and tbh, says more about the person THINKING THEMSELVES more in-control than the pot-smoker, when creating rubbish like this, supposedly always 'teaching a lesson' , to the always 'never-getting-it-together' , a maturity against a immaturity, which itself, although able to be perceived as mature, is in reality self-deluded and mis-attributive as powerful, WITH, whatever invasions of privacy or suggestion, or, whatever.

In a similar way, that the invention of the remote control, took power AWAY, from TV programmers and station directors and content-planners. Newer technology actually meant you could filter MORE.

If that's anything to go by, then common interest in things like being able to pull the plug, are going nowhere, but maniacs that make films like this will keep trippin otherwise. In the bin it goes.
