    This Is Embarrassment

Was this some sort of community service deal that all of Hollywood had to mandatorily turn up for after the Harvey Weinstein scandal or something? That's about the only explanation I can think of that makes sense for this bunch of self-abasing cringe-fests.

Six excruciating 5-minute long public information-like films full of recognizable faces (David Schwimmer, Michael Kelly, Harry Lennix, Bobby Cannavale, etc) all breaking their arms slapping themselves on the back to show how not like those 'other' men they are.

All the cases of sexual harassment depicted are, of course, carried out solely by men, and solely upon women. So no female bosses groping up their male employees after a few drinks at the staff Christmas party, no creepy lesbian co-worker refusing to take no for an answer, no gay head of staff asking the cute young trainee guy to work late.

No. The (unmistakably feminist) narrative is: the Big Bad Men vs the Poor Innocent Little Girls.

What is the message here? That men should never approach women at ALL? That men who try to take the initiative or misread signs of interest should be considered guilty of an actual crime? That they are monsters for clumsily reaching out for human contact who deserve to be arrested and their lives destroyed? Really?

Then how about women? Should every woman who has ever drunkenly tried to kiss someone they found attractive be locked up? Every woman who ever put her hand on a man's knee be fired from her job and never allowed to work again?

    No? Then why not?

Whatever happened to equality? Whatever happened to sexual liberation? Whatever happened to treating full-grown women like grown-ups capable of taking responsibility for their own lives and 'holding their own with any man'?

We have never before lived in such an atmosphere of hysteria over such basic human interactions, and virtue-signalling proclamations like these films can have only one result: to further distance the sexes and make each want to have even less to do with the other. To be honest, with the potentially catastrophic costs now attached to dating I'm surprised ANY human beings in the western world in 2019 ever dare have sex at ALL anymore.

The way things are going right now, every one of these male actors will eventually be accused of something or other, and then they'll really have no excuse when it's their lives being torn apart over 'inappropriately' hugging someone. Because instead of standing up to the now daily #MeToo witch-hunts, they took the easy route and went along with the mob and so helped to bring whatever will happen to them all on themselves.

And when that happens, I won't join in with the hate, but I will tell them I told you so.
