I was anxious to see how Mike Greenberg and company would fare on the new "Get Up!" show on ESPN. I've tried to watch all week. I turn it on for a few minutes and I have to turn to another channel because it's so bad. They are not off to a good start and they're going to have to make some major changes to survive IMO. The chemistry isn't working, the content and flow of the show just isn't there.
This show had a rough start but got better for a short time. Now it feels worse than at the beginning. It's more about the sets, graphics, and personalities, than it is about sports news and insight. Occasionally a guest will come on with some real insight and there are times it feels worthy of my time. More times than not it's like Maury Povich but sports related. These sports personalities are spouting their opinions more for the entertainment value than actual reporting or insight. For some reason they feel that the more sports entertainment personalities they put on screen at the same time the better it is... It's not.
Doesn't get it. Watched 20 minutes, she put down college basketball's "one shining moment" and then the masters..... she is awful!
A show like this needs to exist, and Greenberg is the perfect person to host it. I used to like Beadle before she left ESPN the first time, but she is not a fit for this morning format, and it's obvious Greenberg can tell already it's a failure. Jalen is fine for a segment or two, but he isn't ready for this. It took Golic years, there is a reason why people go to college for this.
