Karakai Jozu no Takagi-san (English: Skilled Teaser Takagi-san) is widely recognized as the "magnum opus" or masterpiece by the notable mangaka Soichiro Yamamoto who has a smart idea to create a story about a teenage girl named Takagi-san teases and pranks a boy which is her seatmate and close friend named Nishikata. Nishikata is known for devising a plan for Takagi-san with the use of pranks whether he would win or lose but unfortunately, he lost. Due to this, the rule of their games is "If you blush, you lose" which has been a running gag of the show. The show is actually interesting along with the trio of girls named Mina, Yukari, and Sanae who are just doing something to their classmates or Nishikata and Takagi-san. Most of the episodes are definitely hilarious with some parts that are "nakaka-kilig" or "romantic". The anime couple Nishikata and Takagi-san is more similar to the KathNiel (Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla), JaDine (Nadine Lustre and James Reid), and LizQuen (Enrique Gil and Liza Soberano) where they are considered widely popular by the fans.
Anyway, this show has generated a huge number of followers not only from Japan but also in Southeast Asia, including the Philippines. The Philippines has been an "anime capital of Southeast Asia" due to the country's endless appreciation to anime and Japanese culture. Karakai Jozu no Takagi-san continues to be a sensation in Japan as well as in the Philippines.
I praised the animation, the story, the characters, and the development of the characters' personalities in which this anime continues to be a great suggestion to watch to the community of anime lovers.

(Review of the 1st season. However, manga doesn't lose any quality as it goes on, so this can be applied to other seasons as well.) I normally don't watch anime if it's not on TV, but i decided to make an exception this time. I went to this anime expecting only the best and I was not dissapointed. The story is about boy named Nishikata trying to not get teased by his friend Takagi, and tease her at the same time. This seemingly mean spirited and unfunny concept leads to one of the most adorable and funniest shows I have ever seen. Show is structured in such a way, that leaves place for both humor and character development. The chemistry between two main characters is undeniable and despite them being boy and girl, there is not love struck in such a way, that you would expect it to be. The characters go through big changes and the final episode is really heartbreaking. When talking about side characters, they are really funny and well written as well. Even if you don't like anime, this show is worth watching and will probably change your mind.
Middle schoolers Nishikata, a boy, and Takagi, a girl, sit next to each other in school but, while they are friends, they also try to embarrass each other. It is clear that when it comes to embarrassing each other Takagi is a master and Nishikata has no hope; each time he comes up with a new plan to get the upper hand she effortlessly turns it back on him. Over the course of the series it becomes clear that Takagi has feeling for Nishikata; he also has feeling for her but can't admit it... even to himself. There are also side stories in each episode featuring three other girls in the class.
This series is a lot of fun from start to finish. Nishikata and Takagi are likeable protagonists as there is no real malice in their attempts to cause each other embarrassment. The story isn't deep but it is delightful in the way it captures the innocence of childhood. There isn't a huge amount of character development but without major events that wouldn't really be expected; the end of the series leaves things open for a second series; although like so many other anime series which I'd like to see return it will probably turn out to be a one series show.
The character designs are good and subtly different from most recent series that I've watched.

This show is brilliant! I couldn't stay one second without fangirling whenever Nishikata blushed (or Takagi-san, sometimes), I am soooo sad that this show ended! It is a show for anime fans that like romance mixed with comedy! It's worth it!
Thanks, the directors and story writes and the cast, and the team which made it possible.

Their Dub featured some of the Original Voice Actors from Funimation's Dub (Including Sarah Widenheft & Aaron Desmuke in the Main Roles), though some Roles had to be Recast a Third time.
