(Review of the 1st season. However, manga doesn't lose any quality as it goes on, so this can be applied to other seasons as well.) I normally don't watch anime if it's not on TV, but i decided to make an exception this time. I went to this anime expecting only the best and I was not dissapointed. The story is about boy named Nishikata trying to not get teased by his friend Takagi, and tease her at the same time. This seemingly mean spirited and unfunny concept leads to one of the most adorable and funniest shows I have ever seen. Show is structured in such a way, that leaves place for both humor and character development. The chemistry between two main characters is undeniable and despite them being boy and girl, there is not love struck in such a way, that you would expect it to be. The characters go through big changes and the final episode is really heartbreaking. When talking about side characters, they are really funny and well written as well. Even if you don't like anime, this show is worth watching and will probably change your mind.

Who even knows why this show is rated in the 7s?? What???
It's insanely cute and funny. So funny and sweet and wholesome. I would dare to say that among slice of life's and romance shows, this is one of a kind. You won't experience anything else like it. It's not a show you can just watch in the background. You'll be glued to the screen.
It is somewhat short and simple, as people have said, but for what it was, it's definitely a 10. It may not be your favorite or your top 10, but you will be so happy you watched it. So good that I had to write a review about it.
I've seen all of the best animes and a large handful of romance/comedies. Trust me, this one stands out. Don't worry about the rating. Please do yourself this favor. I'm honestly the most picky watcher. This is a must-see. Period.

Middle schoolers Nishikata, a boy, and Takagi, a girl, sit next to each other in school but, while they are friends, they also try to embarrass each other. It is clear that when it comes to embarrassing each other Takagi is a master and Nishikata has no hope; each time he comes up with a new plan to get the upper hand she effortlessly turns it back on him. Over the course of the series it becomes clear that Takagi has feeling for Nishikata; he also has feeling for her but can't admit it... even to himself. There are also side stories in each episode featuring three other girls in the class.
This series is a lot of fun from start to finish. Nishikata and Takagi are likeable protagonists as there is no real malice in their attempts to cause each other embarrassment. The story isn't deep but it is delightful in the way it captures the innocence of childhood. There isn't a huge amount of character development but without major events that wouldn't really be expected; the end of the series leaves things open for a second series; although like so many other anime series which I'd like to see return it will probably turn out to be a one series show.
The character designs are good and subtly different from most recent series that I've watched.

Thanks, the directors and story writes and the cast, and the team which made it possible.

This show is a simple fun romance. The main plot is takagi-san likes to tease a kid named nishikata because she likes him and he likes her even if he hasn't realized. We follow them through the school year as takagi-san's teases nishikata. While nishikata always tries to get her back, It never works out for him. The show has small sections about 3 girls in the same class as the main characters and their adventures, but that is more like a side story each episode more about comedy than the romance. Now the show is a little repetitive as all it does is the teasing and the 3 girls hanging out but the characters have fun dynamics and they work well together. It doesn't matter what they are doing it's just fun watching them interact with each other. This show is very cute and fun and I would recommend it to anyone slightly interested

- TriviaAfter bouncing from Funimation to Netflix, Season 3 was picked up by Sentai Filmworks and was streamed on HiDive. Their Dub featured some of the Original Voice Actors from Funimation's Dub (Including Sarah Widenheft & Aaron Desmuke in the Main Roles), though some Roles had to be Recast a Third time. For example, Mina has a different Voice in each Dub, being played by Leah Clark, Cassandra Morris & Maggie Flecknoe in each respective season.
