This game is one big (and amazing) metaphor for shadow work. Once you breach the surface for the first time you begin facing the (initially) uncomfortable truth of who you really are. Monsters start showing up pretty quickly and it terrifies you, but the more you familiarise yourself with them the less dangerous they turn out to be. Some can even be tamed (for a short while). And the more you begin to master the environment, the deeper you're able to dive, and the bigger and scarier the monsters seem to be. Until you find out how to handle them as well and the true fear of death you experienced earlier when confronting these beast steadily becomes less and less. And ever deeper it goes as it must. Until you cannot go any deeper... I won't spoil what you find there, but it might turn out that you're not too bad after all once you've uncovered the deepest truths of who you really are.
Have a great journey on Planet 4546B - I know I did for almost 100 hours on the first playthrough.
Oh, and one last note... Playing Subnautica on a screen is a nice experience. Playing it in VR is 'effing' amazing - even with the half-baked and buggy VR support. Just make sure to install the VR Enhancements on Nexus Mods.

First of all, this game isn't as scary as the usual horror Games nowdays but it's pretty scary. This game will force you to explore to progress the story. I had a couple of encounters with some big sea creatures and it scared me trying to avoid and run away from it. The goal of this game is to go deeper and you'll need supplies for that so exploring is 100% necessary. You build bases and explore, rinse and repeat and add some terrifying creatures then that's subnautica and That's why this game is so great. This game is very relaxing and addicting at the same time. The scenery and creatures are 10/10, and the storyline has insane lore to it.
I know that title might seem like a stretch for Minecraft fans out there but I am serious. This game is easily in my top 3 video games of all time. I'm not gonna spoil because the best part of this game is discovering what to do and how to play. PLEASE DONT SPOIL IT FOR YOURSELF. You will regret it. I watched a bunch of YouTube videos and googled everything in the beginning and I really regret it. The graphics, story, sound, gameplay, music, and overall feel of this games are just incredible. The only thing that is a bit of a problem is that it's a little bit buggy. Not much is game breaking but you probably will experience a few bugs in your play through. The last thing I have to say is how long this game is. I didn't expect it when I got this game but it can take up to 30 or 40 hours for your first play through. Get this game. Please
This is the only survival game I can stand to play except the sequel, and it's amazing. Highly recommended! It's still a tiny bit buggy even now, but the visuals, story and feel are amazing. If you have thessalaphobia, I suggest looking elsewhere besides a survival game that is played almost entirely underwater. Or if you like being scared, play it anyway. It's terrifying, beautiful, fun, and everything a game should be times 10. My only quibble is that the world is so big I have a tendency to get lost. On the other hand, I have a terrible sense of direction, so that might not be the case for everyone.
This game has everything,
-Adventure
-Survival and Creative modes
-Some thrilling horror aspects
-A deep story that's easy to grasp the basics of but has many small parts that can be discovered
-Great graphics for its time
I absolutely love this game, and I've completed it enough times to say that it has amazing replayability because there's so many different ways to go about completing it.
