Larry

I wish these horror films would stop making the endings so silly. The atmosphere and tension building was fantastic. Such a shame it gets ridiculous in the last second.

Larry is a genuinely scary horror short. I'm not at all surprised the director decided to expand the concept into a full-length feature-it has a certain uniqueness and a creepy atmosphere that horror fans are sure to appreciate.

The protagonist delivers a fantastic performance. The idea of him being trapped inside a narrow parking booth with no way to escape, while Larry lurks outside in the darkness, inching closer, is truly unsettling.

I'd say this is top-tier short horror-though the final seconds did dampen it a bit for me. I'm not entirely sure why-perhaps the special effects didn't quite hold up-but I would've preferred an ending more in line with the eerie buildup that preceded it.

'Larry (2017)' is a short film about a bored guy who works in a booth in a parking lot. After finding a tablet in the 'lost and found' box under his desk, he begins to experience strange occurrences that seem to imply the book's disfigured subject isn't as fictional as it may at first seem. It's a solid short with crisp cinematography, a strong creature design and some confident scares. It's a well-made affair that shows a lot of potential, which is probably why its director was given the chance to work on a feature-length film based (at least in part) around it. The ending is a little cheap, primarily because it's the sort of thing that almost every horror film of a similar length opts to do, and the piece isn't as scary as it perhaps could have been. Still, it's an entertaining short film overall. 7/10.

"Larry" has the force of seed fear from childhood, when imagination developpes the lines of Gothic novels. sure, the times change gives another tool. but the feeling remains the same. and, in strange way, that is the motif for who "Larry", against the end who could be better, is a real interesting horror.
