How can you parody a president who is beyond parody?

Well this animated series lands a few punches such as the cheerleading Fox news. It tries to stay tropical such as mentioning a hush hush payment to a porn star but it is not as funny as it should be.

It is almost having an open target and the makers of this cartoon series missed their shot. Do we really need Trump constantly repeating how Hillary conceded the 2016 election.

In this opening episode. President Trump needs to revive his falling poll ratings by delivering a great State of the Union speech. Trump thinks it went down so well he has been asked to give it again next year. Trump also needs to get something special for Melania for their wedding anniversary. He turns to the Vice President for advice.

However a lot of the material was predictable and weak. Like the popular vote in the 2016 Presidential election, the majority of Americans know how dim Trump and his children are.

I originally watched this first ep of "Our Cartoon President" on YouTube the day before the actual President Trump's State of the Union address. The one presented here was way funnier! There's also funny scenes of The Donald's grabbing at something the generals have at their disposal, his sons' banter at how dumb one of them is, Melania's not feeling appreciated by her hubby as before (and yes, that payment to that porn star for not revealing her affair with him is mentioned), and Mike Pence not doing certain things for religious reasons. This was a real hilarious first ep of the show and if YouTube shows the others, I may become a regular watcher!

It has some funny lines and ideas, but fails to please me. If you found it funny, that is great, but I think this is for the really politically interested.
